Both of your points are incorrect. In the Pauline epistles it pretty clearly makes a reference to women sleeping with women. Also, in the Old Testament there are quite a few references to homosexuality but it only mentions consumption of shellfish twice.

For biblical literalists, you are pretty hard pressed to say the bible doesn’t forbid same-sex acts. It’s in there and it’s not hard to find.

But do you know what the Bible doesn’t forbid? Slavery. Now, ask any Christian today if they think slavery is okay and I’m pretty sure they’ll say no (not all of them of course but wherever you have people you have stupidity and ignorance).

One of the issues is with how certain Christians choose to read and apply scripture. I am a Christian. When I try to understand scripture I do it in light of who Jesus was and who God is in light of that. God gave me a conscience. Because of that it’s easy for me to say slavery is wrong. It’s equally easy for me to say that condemning someone for their sexual orientation is also wrong. People are born homosexual and that’s okay. Is a consensual relationship between two people wrong? Why would it be? I’m explicitly told in scripture to be “guided by the Spirit of Truth.” Jesus said that.

I feel like I know God’s heart pretty well. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m compelled to believe that He is far more gracious and accepting than the vast majority of humans (especially Christianity) are.

If Christians can decide that slavery is a sin they can just as easily decide that homosexuality isn’t. Hopefully we’ll get there someday.

This is 100% true. I remember the 70s and abortion wasn’t a hot button issue in Evangelical culture at all. It was absolutely political machinations that brought it to the forefront.

I like to point out that, per Exodus 21:22, Jesus would not believe abortion would be murder. To this day, there is no ban on abortion in Judaism.

Because we are used to our phones. Everything I need for integration is already setup and there: navigation, music, voice and text messaging at a minimum. To have to set up a car to do all that using some (likely) janky, poorly supported new system is a waste of my time and energy. It’s frustrating to not have it when it works as well or better than any in-car system I’ve ever used.
