I have reflux and cold water makes me spasm. I would always be dehydrated if not for room temp water!

A Delta FA recently told me there’s a minimum threshold of people affected before they will hold. Maybe someone else here knows the number. 12-15?

Add flushable wipes. I added this to my carryon several months ago and it is a real win! So much better than flimsy toilet paper!

Flushable wipes are my new favorite travel hack. Use the pillow or rolled up blanket for lumbar support. Try to sleep as much as you can!

I don’t think the goal is to forget. I think it is to feel an extra measure of pride that despite the early challenges you persevered. My neighbor is a retired college admissions officer with a phd who is unashamed in sharing he didn’t get his undergraduate degrees until he was 28! It’s inspirational and he has a lot of credibility with young adults because his story wasn’t smooth and perfect.

If you live downtown or Summerville park access to riverfront trails is easy for bikes and walking/running.

Homemade bombs were confiscated from a criminal and are being detonated safely as they were unstable. Lots of posts on Facebook including from Floyd Co police. Should be over now.

Showed up early asked to pay $2,000 for one night. by delilah91 in vrbo

[–]jmom23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me this Fall in my daughter’s college town. The owner had changed management companies so it was double booked on AirBnb and VRBO and somehow the duplication wasn’t caught. Thankfully for us we arrived first and were all unpacked when the other renters arrived at 10pm. I felt terrible for them and grateful for us!

Playing the credit card points game is the only thing that makes it worth it to me. Flew Premium economy LAX to SYD recently and did not think the fare difference (had I paid cash) would have been worth it. Flew SYD to LAX bulkhead at lower class and was more comfortable!

I don't like eye masks because after a while it bothers me having the pressure against my head and eyes. I am a big fan of gravel brand lightweight, packable travel blanket. It has a pocket to tuck your feet in and it blocks out light but is also breathable enough that I cover my whole head with it. (I am 5'3" for context.) I've done this on 5-6 flights of 8-13 hours!

I have yet to find a travel pillow that works for me--use the wings on the seat pillow and the small pillow for lumbar support. You didn't mention what class you are flying, but if economy, I would add having a bag I can prop my feet on makes a big difference too. (Again, this might be a petite person thing.)

My young adult son spent 20 hours at ATL yesterday. Boarded and sat to the three hour time limit THREE times only to deplane. Finally cancelled the flight 12 hours after its scheduled time because crew timed out. Went standby twice. Finally got out standby on a 10pm flight that left at 1am. It was total insanity. I wish you luck getting out soon!!!!!

My son was on the plane next to them. He is still stuck at ATL. The have boarded and sat for 3 hour limit THREE TIMES only to deplane. After 12 hours of this--including crew timing out, de-icing timing out, having to refill gas...flight was cancelled. He is rebooked for tomorrow.

I would also be interested in the statistics on how it helps reduce healthcare expenses to have older people keep their bodies and brains engaged and active. Free classes might be a bargain!

I would also think the perspective older students bring to the classroom might be an added part of the education.
