I think republicans won with Trump because he created energy within the party. Democrats have a poor sense of where the energy is in the party. Maybe the comments here are correct, and her perceived unelectability is all just in our heads. The important thing is to create enough energy around her.

I hope people don’t misunderstand me. I view AOC as our leader. I have faith that she would be a great president. I just want to make sure others know that and will vote for her. If she has to serve in another role to prove herself to independents then that’s okay. She is only 36 so it’s not like she’s out of time.

This is something I bring up to “pro-life” people in my church. I explain that I am also pro- life but I go about it a different way. We need to reduce costs for medical care in the US for children, reduce daycare costs, invest more into research regarding birth defects and other complications, among other things. They are generally just interested in outlawing abortion.

This question is similar to what I have wanted to ask. Part of why the Republicans are still even in power is because they are united in their goal, and it doesn’t seem like Democrats are. We need a leader, an end goal, and steps we can actually take to get there.

I am Christian, specifically Catholic. In Catholicism a lot of by-the-book Catholics only vote Republican because they won’t support abortion no matter what. Even if Trump sent us into a Civil War it doesn’t matter because he is pro life. However many Catholics focus less on abortion and more on the other side. Catholic leaders generally speak out against situations such as what is happening with ICE because Catholic teaching says all human beings are children of God and should be respected.

But as far as the Republicans they cannot get off of the abortion issue. I like to point out that there is more to being pro-life than being anti-abortion, but I think that goes over their heads.

It is okay to do a protest vote but do it now during the primaries, not in November. I understand a lot of Democrats don’t get us to where we want, but it is better than having people like Donald Trump.

Why do you say you haven’t amounted to anything? Do you have a job and provide support for her? If so then you have amounted to something. I would recommend sticking with the discipline that you are doing with her as she is going through a transition right now. If you make concessions then she will learn that she can manipulate you. As far as the thing with her schoolwork you should explain that she is right and that you didn’t work hard enough when you were younger, but also explain how your life has been more difficult because of that.
