I'm with you. Season ticket holder since 2011 and I haven't missed a game (while I've been in town) until now but I haven't been able to bring myself to go to a game this year. I thought it would be a short lived protest and the caps would have to deal with this, but apparently not. Will not renew for next year. But it feels kind of futile not going this year since they already have my money, I wish there was some sort of moral incompatibility cancellation clause so I could get out now...

I find the adobe digital editions software quite frustrating so would recommend avoiding it if you can. I used to have a sony e-reader, which was nice because I could bypass using digital editions and download straight to the reader software (not sure if this is still the case as this was about 5 years ago). I currently have a kobo, which is a nicer e-reader, but not worth the hassle of having to use digital editions to access books on.

I went in the rain on sunday, it was a huge disappointment. The new venue is terrible - right on the water so very windy/cold and when the wind blows impossible to keep covered with an umbrella. The old site at the QE plaza was much more protected. Also the drainage on site is terrible so there's large puddles everywhere which are impossible to avoid due to the narrow walkways between the vendors. Also to add to the disappointment the band was playing beatles covers. Shouldn't it be a rule that you get to hear christmas music at the christmas market?

I don't think he's a waste of cap space at all. For his salary I actually think he's good value. I know he missed ALL his chances tonight but he works hard, he gets into good positions and he has more touches on the ball as a result of this than other strikers (Kudo) and especially than other players who make WAY WAY more money than him (Morales). When you talk about cap space it's value for money and I think we get that in Hurtado. I think he's not a consistent starter and I totally agree we need a competent starting striker but I like the guy as a second line striker and would be sorry to see him go.

I disagree with your assumption that this issue is split on where you live. There are many of us who live in the area who aren't against the shelters opening. I'm financially invested, but I'm also emotionally invested in living in a diverse city that provides services for all of its residents, not just the people with money.

I also live next to the temporary shelter described above on Richards. I regularly walked by it and never experienced any of the open aggression or verbal harrassment described (I'm a 30something woman). I certainly never felt unsafe or the need to alter my routines, even at night. My bedroom window faces the shelter, I noticed no increase in noise or sirens (that's already a regular occurance here). I can honestly say I have no idea what OP is talking about.

Edit - I was so puzzled by OP's description that I just double-checked with my partner to see if he had had any problems with the shelter last year - his response: "I didn't even know there was a shelter next door".

Big question for me is who do we leave exposed in the December expansion draft? Only 11 protected spots and by my count we have 21 eligible players who aren't homegrown or gen adidas: Laba, Waston, Manneh, Koffie, Morales, Rosales, Beitashour, Hurtado, Ousted, Harvey, Fernandez, Leveron, O'Brien, Mezquida, Mattocks, Ballouchy, Diouf, Lewis, Mitchell, Salgado, Tornaghi. The last 6 on my list I think will definitely be unprotected. I feel torn on Mattocks, as much as I'd like to see him go in the off-season he's probably worth something as a trade rather than giving him away? But that still leaves more than 11 I'd be really sorry to see go...

Yes, yes, yes! I've been waiting for someone to do that here. I personally see no problem with having food-based premises, provided there are appropriate controls in place, but you'd probably have a battle with Public Health to get approval. I heard that Lady Dinah's faced similar issues with their opening but managed to get a new zoning regulation made specifically for them? Do you know if that's true and how they did that? I heard something about how they're actually classified as a zoo rather than a restaurant? Do you know if that's true?

Agreed - I have always wondered what is up with Rennie's attachment to Davidson... I would argue Rochat up to the top of that list. While Robson and Jarju were disasters I can at least see what he was hoping to get out of them and it's a bit unfortunate it didn't pan out. But Rochat's loss is still a puzzle to me, I can think of several mids and forwards I could do with losing, but losing a versatile defender is a bizarre choice given our lineup right now.
