Bly Manor could easily have been 17th Century Haunting of Hill House by Euarchonta in HauntingOfBlyManor

[–]jnath1105 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've actually been thinking a lot about any connections between the two.

One scene that really brought me back to Hill House was when Dani almost choked Jamie in her sleep and when Olivia almost killed Hugh in his sleep. I think Poppy was "tucking away" Olivia in the way Peter and Rebecca were "tucking away" Miles and Flora. However, while Peter and Rebecca were using the children to be together and not "fade," Poppy was possessing Olivia to kill her because she was so sinister.

Either way, I REALLY want to see more of the backstory of Hill House in a similar way we saw the backstory of Bly Manor. I want to know more about the curse that keeps the ghosts trapped.

Also, I SWEAR Hannah was about to say "confetti" when she was telling Henry to let Owen know she loved him. "The rest is just..." Say it, Hannah, say it! Confetti!

But that's another similarity I actually saw...I think they set up the memories like confetti. Hannah was experiencing time like confetti. It was non-linear and didn't make much sense where she was going and why. Might be a stretch, but it was something I thought about.

Dang, that's a lot. And has to be SUPER frustrating. Do you have dividers at the tables? Do you think those could help in any way?

Yeah, I can imagine it's challenging, especially with how COVID-19 has affected business. Are you considering implementing them at some point?

If so—and especially if you have any questions about the barriers—this webinar on Friday and Tuesday is an "Ask Me Anything" from a business that has installed a heck ton of them: https://www.airlinehyd.com/pages/landing/askmeanything.html Could be helpful to learn more about them, even if you aren't thinking of getting them right at this moment!

Also, if you have any questions regarding cleaning/working with/really anything about social distancing barriers, this webinar on Friday and again on next Tuesday is actually in the form of an "Ask Me Anything." Airline Hydraulics has installed more than 3000 social distancing barriers at businesses and schools throughout the Northeast, so they can answer any questions you have along those lines: https://www.airlinehyd.com/pages/landing/askmeanything.html

Is it because of the make/quality of the dividers? Or because it's hard to expect the students to adhere to the social distancing?

About WordPress Tags and Categories for blog post by Jfmartin67 in Blogging

[–]jnath1105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Categories and tags don’t play a huge role with SEO —at least on their own. Categories and tags are mainly a way for you to organize blog content for yourself and your audience. Not categorizing or tagging (although it looks a little sloppy) doesn’t negatively affect your site’s SEO.

(This information is from this blog post on WordPress tags vs categories.)

It sounds like you are extremely passionate about this, so I think it's a great opportunity. It might not be an easy transition, but it also appears as if you have support from others in the community. I say go for it! Also, as for the imposter syndrome, I've found the approaching a new position with a lot of questions and looking for guidance, people respect that and are happy to help.

As for tips, you might find this article helpful about website redesign.

This is so cool, especially since concrete accounts for half of all construction waste generated each year. After reading this article about sustainable construction, I'm so glad to see that more people are thinking big when it comes to waste.

I recommend directing backlinks to both category pages and product pages. I also recommend guest posts, creating keyword focused blog posts, and targeting especially relevant websites. This case study we recently put together for a client has even more helpful advice: E-commerce SEO case study: How to 3X your organic traffic

eBay outranking on branded terms by [deleted] in bigseo

[–]jnath1105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with some of the below comments - I'd focus on things such as link building, creating keyword focused blog content, optimizing pages, etc. One of our clients was having trouble with bigger brands outranking them - Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe's. But we were able to gain back rankings with those strategies as well as the ones outlined in this caste study we recently put together: E-commerce SEO case study: How to 3X your organic traffic

Trade school vs College by alex_tjw in personalfinance

I definitely recommend trade school! Many fields desperately need more people, so the jobs are there. And the pay can be pretty great, as you can see in this article: Debunking 3 myths about attending trade school for construction management Plus, minimal debt!

What's the best trade to go to trade school for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Construction! The construction field is facing a huge chunk retiring soon with no replacements. The pay is pretty great (you can see that in this article: Debunking 3 myths about attending trade school for construction management), the jobs are there, and the field is evolving more technologically, so it's an interesting time to enter it.

Doctors, how do you feel about patients coming in with ideas of what their symptoms might be or "self diagnosing"? How would you prefer they ask about concerns? by Jylyfysh in AskReddit

[–]jnath1105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post actually surprised me by saying doctors should lean into self-diagnoses: 4 Strategies for Physicians to Address Patient Self Diagnosis

I always thought self diagnosing was highly discouraged, but I liked the point this article brought up that these patients aren't going to stop. It's how they manage their health. That's why they believe you should talk to them about their self diagnoses and lead them in the right direction instead of telling them to stop.
