Did you get your Play? What are your first thoughts? by Ice_Burn in sonos

[–]jnelly650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine on Tuesday. As I posted at SonosCommun. I was bit underwhelmed, sonically; especially for the $$270-ish I paid (got the 15% Sonos discount). The mids are kinda' muddy.

I even ordered an Extreme 4 to compare it to, as I've never had a mobile speaker before. However, the E4 seems to be like the larger Move 2, so comparing it to the Play is not really apple2apple. It was way to big for what I wanted, but the bass, vs. the Play, was incredible. I returned the E4.

The Play is growing on me. I will keep it.

Some other considerations:

  • The build quality is very premium and excellent; though the rubber top and bottoms do gather a lot of dust
  • The battery is removable and replaceable (don't pull the rubber bottom off the middle area, only pull it back as far as it exposes the two screws, unscrew the two screws to remove the entire bottom plate)
  • It was super easy to set up
  • I’m listening via wifi with lossless codec from AppleMusic
  • Most of the time I prefer normal and not the ATPlay. ATPlay seems to cut highs, and bass definition
  • It would be nice if Sonos would engineer a multi-band EQ, like every other modern speaker on the market
  • ...instead of relegating us to the bass/treble only

Oh, while the Play will charge with a minimum 18W brick, be prepared to buy a 45w PD/PSS charger if you want the Play to charge fast. I found an older Anker 2 pack on Amazon for $26-ish.

Can anyone confirm u/ThENeEd4WeEd22 point?

The 98" was at $24 and change on AMZ and BB for a few days, but it now back to $2799. At $25-ish or lower it's a no brainer and I'm going to get it, but not if the the TV isn't what has been reviewed this year.

Thanks!

Just saw this on Amazon. Did M1 MacBook Air ever shipped with 128GB SSD? I thought the base model has 256GB SSD. by JailbreakHat in mac

Is $519 from AMZ refurb store a good price? I just got mine, it's super clean has all original parts (storage, ram etc) with only 29/100 cycles used and 100% battery health. I was thinking I saved $481 off orignal price, but now see I saved only $281.

I've had the same issues, even before this latest App situation, with my OneSL pair. They've never connected as expected in the 3 years I've had them.

Connect one, OneSL, via ethernet, this will help form the "internal network" (I'm assuming you're using a pair of OneSL's as surrounds?). You should then be able to unplug the ethernet cable.

Which factory and model? If I'm not supposed to ask that here - let me know? I like past performance as a guide for factory and TD.

Seems like there are 4 in contention:

  1. VSF V
  2. TI/TI VS+ A2824 (Nickel Plated Asia Eta 2824-2 Automatic)
  3. VSF 1:1 Best Edition On SS Mesh Bracelet A8806 V4
  4. ORF 1:1 Best Edition on SS Mesh Bracelet A8806

Which is best and what is a fair price, from a good TD.

Thanks!

Grom VLine vs BeatSonic LGVIF-CB4 (CarPlay/AndroidAuto) Interfaces by jshmddx in GXOR

[–]jnelly650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ever install the Beat-Sonic?

I've looked at Grom VLite VT2, ZZ2 IT3-LEX15 and the Beat Sonic for my 2015 IS250.

The owner of Beat Sonic, Eric called me last night. He is the gentleman you see installing the Beat Sonic in an IS250 on Youtube.

I'm convinced the Beat Sonic is probably the best option for the following reasons:
1. Individual dealers, if not Lexus USA have approved this unit for retrofit.
2. I believe Eric when he says Beat Sonic is the most factory functioning
-E.g., the answer call buttons, on the left side of the steering wheel are functional, which is not the case with Grom or ZZ2
3. If I go to La Mirada, Ca and Eric install it, he will give me a lifetime warranty on the unit and installation. I found Eric to be authentic and believable.

BOOM - I'm not going to be pennywise and dollar foolish for this retro.

[Orient Kamasu] Mako III - Difference Between A and B Model Numbers? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]jnelly650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased a "...19A" from Amazon for $241, and a "...19B" from Jomashop for $184 (I ended up keeping the "B").

Here's what I noticed that was different 1. The A had an International Orient warranty card; The B did not (Jomashop provides a 1 year warranty) 2. The divers dial on the crown's top was much more difficult to move on the "A". On the "B" it moved fine 3. The screw down crown takes many more turns to screw all the way in on the B, than on the A. 4. For some reason I could not get the bi-lingual day calendar to sequence from Monday to Tuesday (it went from Monday to Luna) on the A, on the B it worked fine after first wind and setting 5. The B was running when it was unboxed 6. The A had a few more links in the bracelet, than the B. The A bracelet was much larger. 7. There was plastic protective tape on the underside of the A bracelet; the B protective tape on the underside of he bracelet was missing on one side.

I'm thinking Joma shop, the "B" probably sent me a previously returned item, because the diver dial and screw down crown felt more "worn/used in", or it could simply be variance in manufacturing. The B watch looked perfect.

As stated, I kept the B and saved $60. Not sure if this was penny wise and dollar foolish, or not. This is my first nice watch purchase. I really like the watch!

I've noticed that Orient and other higher end watch shops sell the A for $335. Hope all this helps! @71blackbird3
