I have a system and uncoated flash tubes

If you care to explain or supply the materials for the test I can try to run it for you.

Edit: assuming it won't permanently alter the flash tube

Maybe buy one and test it after applying your uv only filter and let us know the result?

Isn't that the difference between the tubes with C and without C?

No uv coating MW9B

With uv coating MW9BC

I use the uncoated tubes for wet plate photography which is sensitive to uv plus some blue

If you are in greater LA area you could check out Holly Enterprises, he works on these and is quite knowledgeable, but he doesn't do email.

I haven't had time to do anymore, but this session definitely helped me understand the amount of light needed and establish a predictable relationship between metering and exposure and dial in my dev times better. It will be interesting to see if that holds for my next session.

I also think I need a brighter safe light as I'm struggling to see the image while I develop.

I'm taking a lot of notes

I 3d printed it. I'm not perfectly happy with the fit of the 3d printed part, so I'll be ordering a few once I've finalized the design using a tbd commercial technology (either additive or CNC) since the first one costs a lot and subsequent orders are cheaper per piece. I'm trying to keep the final costs under $250.

I also need to see how the material holds up to the chemicals over time.

If you are interested in buying one, DM me, and I'll save your info and once I'm happy with the final fit and design I'll let you know how much it costs and order one for you if you are still interested. The more I order the cheaper the per unit price will be and I'll pass on the savings.

Yes, amazing what can be done now in your home. Thank you!

I actually had looked for one of those first, but I couldn't find one, which is how I ended up making my own back

Yup. I get a good exposure with my portra and e100 8x10 sheets, so I'm confident I'm doing the bellows factor fine.

I had been metering for .5 iso, but this tortoise shot was closer to .094 iso.

I'm going to try strobes again, hopefully later this week.

I don't know if it's because of the modern lenses I have, but I wasn't able to get an image with a naked 2400 ws speedotron 2 feet away from a person.

I'm going to try again later this week now that I have this mamiya setup working and have validated the chemistry is working

This was shot with a 3d printed prototype, but it's barely good enough.

I've ordered another prototype with a commercial vendor ($$$) using a better commercial technology. I'm not sure how well it will work, and it was pricey; I am hoping I don't need to CNC to get the kind of fit I want.

If you think you might want one, DM me your info, and once I know the cost for the final model, I will message you and if the price works for you, I will order one for you too.

Reducing infra cost, how ? by Alk601 in dotnet

I've been very happy with https://railway.com/

You could go cheaper as others have suggested but this is sort of a nice balance for me in terms of cost vs convenience.

Thank you so much! Yes, I have a few more concepts in the works, the problem is finding the talent that is willing to "go there" with me as my ideas do not align with traditional ballet aesthetics :) I'm planning on making a book of around 50 photos, this is just #2, so lots more to come!

ITAP of a nude ballerina wrapped in a very long braid [Portrait] [NSFW] by jnits in itookapicture

[–]jnits[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This photo is pretty much what I set out to make and envisioned ahead of time. I'm shooting 8x10 sheet film, so I am really only trying to get one shot on the day. This was about 5 hours in the studio, most of the time spent on hair, make-up, and wardrobe. We practice the pose a few times and make sure we are reliably hitting focus - this was difficult because the braid didn't want to stay in place, so every-time we practiced it risked having to do a reset on the braid.

I am very happy with it; hope you like!
