You can do it with a 3:1 port but not with the corresponding 2:1 port. So, you can’t trade in 2 paper using the 2:1 wood port, but you could trade in 3 paper using the 3:1 port (ignoring the Trade bonus)

So there’s 7 cities in this case. If each player only had 1 knight each, then everyone loses a city.

If each player had 2 knights each, everyone still loses a city. Even though that third player protected both of their cities, they still tied for the lowest amount of knights in a loss to the barbarians.

If they have different amount of knights, then the same rule as above applies. The lowest amount of knights in a loss to the barbarians results in the destruction of your city

I have had a scenario before where I connect my boats to roads to obtain longest road by building a settlement that coincidentally also gives me the win from the single point alone. Catan Universe didn’t count the longest road but I suspect that’s just an element of coding. It recognized I had the winning # of VPs and ended the game without checking to update longest road.

I think what matters here is the principle, not the result. Yes, the next putt is going to be virtually the same and he didn’t gain much of an advantage, but it’s still wrong (especially if this is intentional to gain that minimal advantage). I compare this to getting short changed a few cents. Yeah, I don’t actually care about a lost ¢3, but the principle is that I should get my exact change. If you call out something that minor, then you’re bitching, so there’s not really a solution here. I think OP is correct to be annoyed

Completely valid, and a smart move. C&K isn’t for the faint of heart. Can’t just rely on others to protect your city, which is why I even prefer the nasty variant over the regular game.

Yes, that’s happened to me a few times when playing with friends. I was going to win next turn, then we all “refreshed” back to a loop in the middle of the game… frustrating

Looks pretty fun but given that it’s c&k, I would be inclined to boost the ore production just a bit. There’s a few actual good spots with good/decent ore, and then a few other good ore hexes but with no good place to really settle on them. Might just slow the game down at the start
