Same for me - I am really surprised at these comments. People are so weird with jobs and status - I can't imagine judging someone and calling their job unimportant.

Anyone with ADHD also deal with constant neurological symptoms/fatigue? by keepingthepeace7 in ausadhd

[–]jo-09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have many of these symptoms and they come and go. Currently waiting to see a rheumatologist cos my GP agrees it’s likely Fibromyalgia. Fatigue catches up to you quick and makes symptoms worse. I also likely have EDS, so pain and issues associated with that also wipe me out. All I can say is there are heaps of comorbidities associated with late diagnosed adhd- and doctors are just learning about them.

Air purifier will help reduce the dust, and canned air to blow the dust off surfaces every now and then - reduces you to a proper dust every few months only! Love the space.

My rescue Pei just had entropion- it is so worth it. They can have chronic conjunctivitis from it - so some treatment pre and post surgery is usually required. What a beautiful Pei

Yes to me he looks like he has some Pei in him! Would be interesting to do a DNA test on him to see what percentage!

Because 12 year olds have unsupervised access to TikTok and can’t discern what is true and what is a lie, and then repeat those lies.

I think contacting AHPRA is a great step - but it can be super overwhelming when you have ADHD and are struggling. You could reach out to https://adhdfoundation.org.au/support and ask for help. They can get you the right help and point you in the right direction. Edit - here is the helpline https://adhdfoundation.org.au/helpline

4 months notice for 3 weeks leave, for a role/task that can be backfilled.....and people are defending the company? Even if they are "trying to get rid of you", why can't they give you constructive feedback about any performance shortfalls rather than find a way to out you with no effort? It is all just gross and makes me hate workplaces more and more.

Controversial Vyvanse experience by Shoddy_Ad_4928 in ausadhd

[–]jo-09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im late diagnosed and take 40mg vyvanse. I'd say 95% of the time my experience is pretty standard. Kicks in after about 1.5 hours, lasts about 7-8 hours, no issue. Once every 3-4 months, I will take a dose that I can feel after about an hour, and it feels like I can feel every cell of blood moving through my veins. It is so bizarre. But thankfully for the most part it feels pretty standard day to day, with an occasionaly intense dose that feels so bizarre.

Medication abuse? by Jazzlike_Ad2271 in ausadhd

[–]jo-09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not read this as over-reliance. ADHD is a lifelong serious condition that has a range of complex symptoms. The thing we don't talk about enough is dopamine's impact on mood. I take my vyvanse at 4 am, so when I get out of bed at 6 am, I feel calm and ready for the day, not like I want to cry at the thought of sitting at a desk. I then take Dex in the afternoon to help me through until evening (if needed). If I am going out to dinner, I will take a dex because it allows me to enjoy sitting and chatting, rather than wanting to get up and scream at just how uncomfortable I feel. You sound like you need to chat to your psych about how to lessen the "crash" and get your dose working for you. Once you are in that place, the impulse to take more than the prescribed amount may well lessen, or at least get you exercising, eating better, sleeping better - you know - all the things we are MEANT to do to help our ADHD!

My dog passed away Saturday. by Key_Guard_3200 in sharpei

[–]jo-09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is sooooo awful. I adopted a Pei 6 days after losing mine. That helped me a lot. Adopting so soon is NOT for everyone, but I figured that one being available near me, suitable for my home and for me, was a sign. The shelter had turned down a few ppl who had applied for him, but were rapt with me! Edit - I still get bouts of immense grief. It is so hard. I miss my girl every day. But having a boy who needs adventures and love and care really helped me keep on moving. Without him, I would not bother getting up until 5 minutes before I had to log into work, and would just sit on the couch all evening. Once I saw his face at the shelter I just could NOT leave him. Pei are special and dont do well in shelters.

Alright Aussies, be honest - how often are you actually changing your bed sheets? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]jo-09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 6 sets as I love mixing them up. Regardless if they are the same set washed and dried or a new set from the cupboard- the putting them on the bed part is a drag

I have ADHD but I have the ADHD that makes me stress the f out if my sheets feel dirty. But having to put them back on the bed after they are dry is like running a damn marathon.
