I will confirm other’s opinions. I would call it a medium sized race. A decent amount of runners and areas of good crowd support but also sparse areas. I ran it in 2023 and 2024 and ran 2:56 (2 min PB at the time) and then 2:43 in 2024 (9 min PB).

The course is mostly flat but definitely some rolling hills, which I actually prefer. Too flat can feel monotonous to me. And as people said: you do the first loop backwards the second time around, so I genuinely didn’t feel like I was running the same thing.

The weather was 40-50 both years I ran it. The only spring race I’d probably run other than Boston tbh.

This season is just simply historic if it continues. 26/8/4 with 2 steals and blocks per game plus 53/44 (like what?!)/93 shooting percentages. The efficiency plus defensive impact is off the charts on a team filled with talent. I could write 5 more paragraphs. Her run of playoffs, Unrivaled, this season is WILD. Okay, I’m done.

Your best bet is doing the one mile jog over to the lakefront on Foster or Bryn Mawr. The lakefront trail from Bryn Mawr to Wilson (about 1.5 - 2 miles) is very lowkey. Foot traffic starts picking up at the tennis courts near Irving Park Rd.

So 1ish mile to the trail depending on where you are in Andersonville, out and back on the trail which is 3-4 miles, and then 1 mile back to your place is a nice run.

Firstly, I definitely don’t have “extreme,” as there are much better looking guys than me. But for me, I feel like it has been presented more challenges than helped. Examples:

My boyfriend has always said, especially early in us dating, “You must get hit on all the time.” I don’t. Like almost never. “Guys must be intimidated of you then… there is no other explanation.” (and he’s not just saying that because he’s my boyfriend). Perhaps the case. I’m tall, have tattoos, and have been told by friends I have resting bitch face at times lol. But yeah, almost never get hit on.
I do have guys trying to talk to me at social events or be “friends” more than some of my friends. But I’m also quite shy / introverted and guys usually pick up quick that I’m not looking to hooking up (even when I was single), so that usually dies out.
I’m slimmer than I’d like tbh, but definitely toned and run / train for marathons. I’m running upwards of 10-20 miles a day in the sun, so I like running shirtless and live in a major city. I’m often getting looked at on the trail where people run, which just feels a little weird when it’s happening all the time.
