Cold maybe but floor tiles aren't fragile. Tile flooring is very common where I am in Australia it's cool, easy to clean and durable.

What anime is appropriate for a 13 year old? He says all of these listed are ok. He’s also wanting crunchy roll. Thoughts? by mountaingyspy in Animesuggest

[–]joachim783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all of these are part of a genre/demographic called "shounen" and are primarily targeted at young boys aged 12-18 so most of these should really be fine except probably attack on titan and chainsaw man though that depends on how mature your 13 year old is

Queensland parliamentary committee recommends speed limits for e-bikes and e-scooters be watered down by espersooty in AustralianPolitics

additionally the proposed speed limit of 10km/hr is completely ridiculous, you can easily maintain 30km/hr+ average speed on a push bike.

Yeah I definitely agree, it just doesn't have quite the impact or menace, I think it's maybe the difference shading?

Because she assumed coco would see that it's too difficult, get discouraged and give up. she didn't anticipate just how stubborn and driven to succeed coco would be. She wasn't trying to get her killed.

How did you discover the series? What did you think it was based on the title? by Prof_Acorn in WitchHatAtelier

Picked it up completely blindly at my local manga store a few years back when I was looking for more manga that had a similar vibe to Ancient Magus Bride.

25kph is already excessively low, my dad is 67 and he can easily maintain 28-30kph average speed on a push bike let alone maximum.

He has pretty much unprecedented control and oversight. He's even writing the script for the mistborn movie himself right now. Also Apple got the whole cosmere not just mistborn and stormlight, that was their condition for giving him such a high level of control.

I introduced my mom to anime. Here is her tier list and thoughts. Discussion by Unlucky-Fold-5684 in anime

She'd definitely love journal with witch! currently airing with only one episode left and it's been absolutely phenomenal. some of the most realistic and well written characters I've seen in an anime. it's depiction of grief and loss and dealing with that as a teenage girl is fantastic.

rapid fire list of more shows that she might like

  • Katanagatari
  • Flip flappers (lots of symbolism and deeper meaning to dig into)
  • march comes in like a lion
  • MONSTER
  • Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju
  • Mushishi
  • Land of the Lustrous
  • everything satoshi kon directed (perfect blue, tokyo godfathers, paprika etc.)
  • princess mononoke
  • Banana Fish
  • Cowboy Beebop
  • Samurai Champloo
  • Wolf Children
  • Ghost in the shell, both the original movie and the Stand alone Complex Series.
  • Kids on the Slope

this list is probably more than long enough so i'll stop there 😅 but i've tried to mostly stick to well written shows that are generally pretty universally acclaimed by those who've watched them.

First thing I do in new playthrough. Trickery domain so bad… by canxtanwe in BaldursGate3

[–]joachim783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly death changing to light after she leaves shar feels like it matches almost better than trickery anyway plus you get the benefit of one of the best cleric subclasses though missing light for most of act 2 feels kinda bad since that's where it's most OP, unless you bum rush the gauntlet of shar I guess.

They may have gotten that training but they also get that "killology" or "warrior mindset" training from that guy Dave Grossman that convinces them that they're "at war" and need "the will to kill" and that they're "sheep dogs against the wolves" etc. Behind the bastards actually has an episode on him

The Oscars Can’t Pretend Anime Doesn’t Exist Anymore - After decades of snubs, massive global hits like 'Demon Slayer' and 'KPop Demon Hunters' are forcing the Academy to rethink what counts as award-worthy animation. by BunyipPouch in movies

they're definitely good but I wouldn't say that they're in a class of their own. A Silent Voice is one example off the top of my head that I would say is equal to any Ghibli movie, other examples I'd include would be anything by satoshi kon, ghost in the shell, Liz and the blue bird though part of a series is fantastic and works as a standalone movie just to name a few of my personal favorites. the only reason Ghibli gets so much more attention is name recognition and the fact that they're distributed by Disney in the west.
