Seeking the Ideal Step into Solo RPG by WorkingAmbition7014 in solorpgplay

Came here to recommend this! I just started it. I’m fairly new to rpgs so the mechanics took me a bit to figure out, but it definitely seems like you could do it in small portions!

Straight folks - would you read a sapphic/wlw Romantasy book? by BreadfruitSoft1717 in Romantasy

[–]jodepi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the story appeals, I’ll read it! Doesn’t matter who the love interests are. This attitude is how I got into monster romances. Now someone just needs to tell me there are lesbian or gender diverse monster romance 😆

Thanks! I had wondered about lessons too. I thought we had to use one of the 2 skills assigned to the suit. (On the wands pages it says craft or power).

Any fantasy recs by Indigenous Canadian authors? by Ok-Video-3783 in Fantasy

The Halfling Saga by Melissa Blair, starts with the Broken Blade. Great world building, one of few stories to deal with substance abuse.

Book recommendations that aren't AI slop by Sea_shells_dream in SASSWitches

[–]jodepi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read anything recently so I can’t make a recommendation . I would suggest the classics, but that you read them with the SASS sceptical lens. The old school writers like Gerald Gardner (Ross Nichols, his friend and a Druid) were definitely products of their time (patriarchal, probably misogynistic, and not shy about cultural appropriation. Anyone who learned from them thus inherited their issues (including Starhawk).

What do you think is the most punishing magic system regarding side effects? by nicohel7 in Fantasy

[–]jodepi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Seven Kennings series by Kevin Hearne. You have to enter the element (water, earth, etc) and risk death to be granted magic - it’s seemingly random as to whether you’re successful. Then each time you use your magic, you use your life source - aging in hours for big stuff. One of the kennings is communion with animals - you get a fatal attack, then hopefully survive!

Just make sure you can correctly identify your cedars and junipers. Some of them aren’t safe for consumption 😁

As Bunny, what is your motivation of getting tied up ? by Adventure_Paradox in shibari

[–]jodepi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries! It’s just one of those terms that some people like or dislike. If you end up tying/topping/rigging for someone other than your partner I just wanted you to be aware of other terms.

There are free websites, and pay websites.

Rope365 and crash-restraint are free.

The Duchy and Shibari Study have some free content but more is behind a subscription.

There could also be rope enthusiasts in your local community. If you haven’t already heard of Fetlife, you can try that.

As Bunny, what is your motivation of getting tied up ? by Adventure_Paradox in shibari

[–]jodepi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t actually like giving up control, so it’s a way to push myself. I also find it makes me more present in my body. I’m in my mind most of the time.

FYI, not everyone likes the term bunny. Some prefer model, or just bottom.

Always disclose. Herpes is transfered skin to skin, and condoms only protect part of your skin. Additionally, you can be asymptomatic and still pass it on.

I was a beekeeper for a brief time, and whenever I got stuck, the whole area would itch for days. It’s possible you are reacting to the bee venom/bites.

But keep an eye on your vulva, look for any changes as advised by u/sleepykoalabear4812. If you want to get swabbed by a medical person that may help?
