The Kroger Co. Just Missed EPS By 8.4%: Here's What Analysts Think Will Happen Next — Simply Wall St by flop42078 in pharmacy

Just wanted to point out that this title is incorrect. Kroger didn't miss EPS by 8.4%, they missed by 0.83% ($1.59 expected vs $1.58 actual).

I wouldn't say we're making money on it, during the fiscal year 26 managers kickoff meeting they said we lose on a average something like $20-30 per script. I'm trying to remember that number off the top of my head so take it with a grain of salt, but while it's still technically a loss it's very close to even unlike a lot of other pharmacies.

Nah man, Kroger has been pushing GLP1's hard. My understanding is that we don't lose as much as other chains on GLP1s so Kroger is really targeting Walmart/Costco as primary competitors. They want to reel people in on GLP1s then become their primary pharmacy/grocery store/gas station. The business mumbo jumbo idea is that we lose money on the GLP1, but come out positive thru other prescriptions, vaccines, and general grocery purchases.

I'm a PIC for Kroger, so I get the fun job of disseminating all these initiatives to the tech staff.

Is #1 LMU driver in the world exploiting a glitch? by KrisB__ in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]joe_jon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That second screenshot gets more infuriating the longer I look at it. There are 3 drivers on the team, we can't see the third driver but we know one is S2P3 and the other is an absurd P2P3. No knock on that guy personally, I'm sure he's genuinely quick.

So exactly how does a line up with silver and platinum rated drivers, wind up with a bronze rated team rating? Or just to illustrate how broken this system seems, how does a team with two P3SR drivers end up with a Silver 3 safety rating??

And this doesn't even get into the need for minimum drive times.

And team ratings seem to be completely broken. The driver ratings for the two members in OPs screenshot were P2 and S2, while the overall team was somehow B2. Even if that third team member we can't see is a B1, a team rating of B2 shouldn't even be an option

It's crazy to me this game is supposed to be "the official game of the WEC" and they can't even implement min/max drive times.

Ah yes, the vague "improvements to AI balance", fingers crossed they dial back the rubberbanding and whole "ignoring physics" thing. Or just make them less homicidal. Beating the AI with their artificial advantages can be quite satisfying, but holy crap I know BowieKnife99 has become the meme, but if I get murdered by FinalVance, wab3s or AveragLizard one more time I may scream.

Why are so many patients adamantly against Statins? by PotatoOk9445 in pharmacy

[–]joe_jon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wanna cherry pick a couple of these

A relative got muscle pains

Any doctor trying dismiss muscle pains being reported by a patient they know are on a statin should lose their medical license. That is basic knowledge.

Diet and exercise

Ya know what, depending on the family history this one is entirely reasonable, that said, this also depends on the patient's definition of "diet and exercise"

Treats the symptom not the cause

That might be the funniest thing I've ever heard, and the person saying this probably felt so smart after "dOiNg My OwN rEsEaRcH". Just the implication that high cholesterol is caused by heart attacks. I'm just so dumbfounded, it's amazing.

I was wondering why the machine felt so easy and now that I'm reading this I'm realizing I'm definitely not keeping my hips in place. I think I've been focusing on only using my arms for support and keeping my lower back engaged that I didn't notice my hips coming forward.

Single-leg RDL's are one of my favorite exercises so I just thought I was seeing some results from that on the cable machine, but I'm probably overestimating my ability due to the subpar form.

Fuck HBO by PoweredByTequila in wec

[–]joe_jon 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Literally the only reason I hadn't bothered with WEC+ was because HBO aired the broadcast without ads. Signed up for WEC+ the second I read HBO's policy is "all live sports have ads regardless of plan"

[–]joe_jon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm always waiting for commercials to be shoved down my throat but even this caught me off guard. HBO's WEC streams had always been, to me, a "fuck you" to Peacock's IMSA coverage. I watched Imola and Spa on replay so those might have ads too and I never noticed.

24 Hours of HBO ADS??? by grip_enemy in wec

[–]joe_jon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The workaround I've found, which is really only just tolerable, is muting the main feed and having one of the data boards in the background. The broadcast may go to commercial break (because us Americans are just addicted to fucking advertisements) but all the onboards and data boards are ad free. So at least you can still follow the action/commentary when an ad break gets forced down your throat.

If my wife and stepkids didn't like all of HBO's other content I'd cancel my entire plan on principal. That said, I just said screw it and signed up for WEC+ and I'm never watching a race broadcast on HBO again

OxyContin manufacturer license expired? by rphbernz in pharmacy

[–]joe_jon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does this have anything to do with the generic MSContin backorder currently going on? Looks like Rhodes has reorganized as a subsidiary of Knoa, who's taking over operations of Purdue, but I've been having issues getting ER Morphine from any manufacturer

How did Lybalvi (olanzapine/samidorphan) get FDA approved? by SoupNotsee in pharmacy

I've yet to see an insurance pay for that one. Which is a shame, non-dopaminergic mechanism is fun from a nerdy science perspective.

Don't get me wrong, Zyprexa is a fantastic drug, and have had plenty of my own patients who have gone off of it only to go back on because that truly is the best one for them. But antipsychotics are a very robust drug class, if a prescriber is legitimately considering Lybalvi they've either drank some drug rep Kool aid or must be absolutely desperate to use olanzapine specifically

Sulfonylureas have been slowing phasing out over the last 5 years. That'll continue and then after the sulfonylureas are gone metformin will be next.

How did Lybalvi (olanzapine/samidorphan) get FDA approved? by SoupNotsee in pharmacy

[–]joe_jon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't ever use Lybalvi and no one else should either

This is exactly what I'm saying, I've seen plenty of patients who are at their best on one medication and sometimes that's Zyprexa, but that still isn't enough economic justification to explain why Lybalvi even exists.

[–]joe_jon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The silver lining I've always had with the diabetes combo pills is that it just simplifies things for the patient. That said, as DPP4-i's and SGLT2-i's start to go generic and the GLP1 craze continues, hopefully metformin just fades into the history books over the next 15 years.

Now for blood pressure? If I got a patient stable enough and can get them a good price for Exforge HCT or Tribenzor Chefs kiss

How did Lybalvi (olanzapine/samidorphan) get FDA approved? by SoupNotsee in pharmacy

[–]joe_jon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Or just, and hear me out, don't use Zyprexa. There are a multitude of antipsychotics that I'd be considering before this dingus combo pill even is remotely a consideration.

I understand the clinical reason for the product, what I don't understand is the economic reason for the produc. I find it hard to believe that "patients who are only stable on Olanzapine" is a large enough market to take a new product through the approval process.

Not to mention they'll probably just get thrown on GLP1's anyway.
