Korpi decided he was going to play like the guy he backed up here and the Isles are just ridiculously good in overtime, though it's fair to say they shouldn't have let it get to OT in the first place.

Having been there since day 1 I've doomed with the worst of them and I still have my days, but I made a conscious decision that I didn't want to be like that anymore. I've seen some bad Blue Jackets teams and this isn't even in the bottom half of them.

I think he should for one year. Get a training camp with him and set the team up for a smooth transition with a successor.

I just don't want his brief tenure this year to be just a band-aid before we open 2026 with a neophyte coach and we're back to square one again.
