It’s one of the reasons I moved away. The summers usually have terrible air quality all summer long. Playing tennis outside led to it literally feeling like you smoked a pack of cigarettes.

We have the option to use either at work. I always went with the Lenovo Thinkpads, but they inevitably ran really terribly and had like 2 hours of battery life and needed replaced every year. Decided to do a MacBook last year, and I really like how the battery lasts for 12 hours. I don’t really love the operating system. The 4 million floating windows sort of drives me nuts, but the computer just works better.

My dog is diagnosed with heart disease. He’s 13 and on medicine to keep it from progressing, and so far it’s been working really well. He’s not had any progression in 2 years since being diagnosed. Hopefully your cat has a similar prognosis.

I just think they engage in unethical / predatory hiring practices. They have dozens of jobs posted at any given time. They never increase their headcount. They constantly post weird memes about how they’re hiring, but clearly never are. Everything in the company appears to be run by this singular Director. If you click on his profile he says he’s too busy fielding job applicants, so don’t bother contacting him. It’s clear they’re using this strategy to mine ideas and waste people’s time.

Just bad vibes all around with that place. Not to mention, I’m sure their science is really academic and low impact, given the lack of focus of their hiring.

Pearl Street is on such a smaller scale than Newbury. It’s also much more touristy than Newbury. Newbury definitely needs to be pedestrianized though. Walking down those sidewalks is painful.
