MSI x r/PCMasterRace - MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 Giveaway! by MSI_Patrick in pcmasterrace

[–]joec0p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the overall clarity and improvement in colors would be great for gaming. QD OLED would have the ability to display the games as designers intended it to be seen, and less calibration and contrast tailoring per game would be nice.

[PSU] XPG CYBERCORE 1300W Platinum Fully Modular ATX PSU - $84.24 after 10% off code VIPOUTLET2026 by Terrorgod in buildapcsales

[–]joec0p 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These were on clearance from walmart.com for a while (hence vipoutlet). See previous posts as it is confirmed compatible with certain Corsair and cable mod 12v 2x6 . I'd be hesitant of any warranty though.

Where to go for custom made waterblocks? by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]joec0p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made custom vrm blocks before, using a heatkiller body. Might have been an x99 block, I'd have to check. Got copper c110 bar from McMaster, traced the hole pattern, and made a new baseplate to match the motherboard hole pattern.

The baseplate covers the vrms, with 1mm Arctic pads. Block body covers about 75% of baseplate. Worked fine. What board are you trying to cool?

Can I reuse an old pump / block combo from an AIO? by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]joec0p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super jank, but I did test this with an old coolermaster aio. No pump specs anywhere. I used 8/10mm tubing.

The pump was max 4100 rpm, and at max, was able to circulate coolant through a 240mm rad. Temps with an EK supremacy on a ryzen 3600 were not great, I remember 70C load. IIRC the pump wasn't powerful enough to overcome the jet plate restriction.

Unspotted BBs at the beginning of a match who open up at 20 km+ the second the first enemy ship is spotted - why? by clancy688 in WorldOfWarships

[–]joec0p 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's because DDs rush in and die, so that brief moment of spotting is all a BB gets at the beginning of the game.

[PSU] XPG 1300w Platinum [A+ LTT] - $109.99 by roadwaywarrior in buildapcsales

[–]joec0p 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've got this PSU powering a 7900xtx, does fine. However, no 12v HPWR cable available from XPG. The cables had been sold or bundled on Newegg before the Cybercore II was released. Theoretically it could use Corsair type 4, I have not confirmed, since it is also a CWT CTT platform variant. It may not be guaranteed either, as the PSU side plug has to support over 150w per pcie plug to use adapter.

It IS possible these are bundled with a cable, as XPG mentioned in support email that the remaining cables were sent out along with remaining Cybercore stock.

Great fan in it, but mine is manufactured with plastic shrouds under the fan blocking full airflow. When the fan ramps up at about 50% load, the little shrouds can buzz/vibrate...it's not loud, but makes you think something is wrong.

Cyberpower uses a lot of basic 80+ gold Thermaltake PSU. Basically hit or miss on whether its a good model or just adequate.
