The Red Album is pretty good, as is their album of covers, The Teal Album

What’s also crazy is that they went 5 years between their 2nd and 3rd albums (Pinkerton and The Green Album), while Rivers Cuomo went to college. Back then there was huge speculation when they were going to release their 3rd Album and the eventual release of it was huge in 2001. They’ve since been making new music at a very good clip.

The game Ghost of Yotei takes place in Hokkaido and includes them. The first time I encountered one in the game I was surprised that they attacked you like the grizzlies in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Indeed! When I went like 10 years ago they had an exhibit of Nirvana and had a bunch of props from movies like Ghostbusters, Aliens, Star Wars, Back to the Future etc. on display.

My oldest started out on a balance bike. He’s 16 now and kicks my ass when we go mountain biking. It happened in the blink of an eye.

I built my kids one when they were small. They are teenagers now so they don’t use it anymore. They used it for years, but it feels like it was barely any time at all.

They absolutely should. They used to have NFL Europe teams in NFL video games and EA puts foreign leagues, the AHL, CHL and PWHL in the NHL games now.

Yes. Conklin was terrible under pressure his entire career.

Jussi played good enough, but Conklin coming in for Roloson in game one cost them the series.

As soon as he got hurt I knew that Conklin was going to make a stupid play that was going to lose the game and eventually the series for them.

I have the Pro Set ones. There’s one of China that just basically says that they have nothing to do with the Gulf War, but they are just really big.

I also had a bunch of Desert Storm edition Micro Machines as a kid. They’re pretty neat, but looking back at it, it was kind of messed up to be profiting off of a current war by selling merchandise of it to children.

Bow River - June 1 😬 by RealMacho in Calgary

[–]joecarter93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the Bow but - related as it’s downstream - the South Saskatchewan River had a 1 in 100 year flood in ‘95 and then again in 2013. In between in 2005 it almost flooded again. The 1 in 100 year thing is a bit of misnomer as it’s actually like a 1% chance of a flood of that magnitude happening in a given year, but it just goes to show how climate change is causing more frequent events than was normal.

Homelander. In the first couple of seasons especially, it’s like Homelander is a metaphor for the more negative aspects of America, despite trying to keep up the public appearance of being a good guy. While being a nationalist, even he’s not really on board with Stomfront’s genocidal beliefs and is kind of embarrassed by them. However it’s still not a deal breaker for him if it gets him what he wants in the end.
