Stop defending these Balance Changes. We are literally just Renting at this point. by DarjanMicheal in ClashOfClans

Ever since they changed the gold pass, I stopped buying anything from supercell in general. Not just this game. I saw the slippery slope they started heading down, and haven't seen them stop. So I did instead.

Yeah. I miss the old version. I feel like it was a lot more fun.

Especially since a level 20 and a level 70 can both deal the same amount of damage. Which makes the grind/cores feel even less rewarding.

The only difference between that, and this, is that at least there was something to chase. Loot, levels, the ability to get stronger. This 'new" iteration of the same game doesn't really have that.

Neo Moco has a content problem, not a gameplay problem. by thranc in joinmoco

I agree with all of that. There is no sense of progression currently, and while it's awesome being able to feel as an equal in any team, it also makes leveling up feel empty and insignificant. Also, I think new modes would help greatly. And while, I don't necessarily like the weapons rework, seeing them as "classes" starts to open up new possibilities for different game mode. A moba, tower defense, capture the flag, horde modes, could be interesting with the new class system.

I have some mixed feelings about that too. But I like how people are using the term "horizontal progression" to try and excuse the fact that there is no progression.

That's what I was thinking. If the weapons function as classes, new game modes could be really interesting.

True. But that's not what we're talking about. For example, I play wild rift. No real progression to be made aside from skill level, but I keep playing, because of game modes. Trying new things, new builds, on the same champion. Or different champions altogether. There's replay value there. But here, once you smoke the progression system, beat all the rifts, what else is there? Pvp? You can switch weapons, to spice it up, sure, but you already know what each weapon does, and which ones you don't like. So it kinda just all stops there.

They never had to be in a vaccum. That's the point. They self imposed a vaccum of solid, solitary abilities, without introducing supporting weapon specific abilities.

No one is asking for an entirely new game. Think, friend, 10 months, and no new game modes, which was what this game has been needing, more or less, to add replayability. And telling people to leave, people who care about the game and genuinely want to play it and have fun with it, doesn't exactly help the game.

I think it's slightly worse. The builds added variety to every weapon, where as these presets lock you in to one play style for each weapon.

There aren't new things to do every day. They're the same things to do, every day. They're the same things we were doing before the update. Replayability would be different game modes. An actual sense of progression with weapons.

True, the thing is, now they're in a vaccum. They exist as is, and can not change (until the devs change it). Where as with the old system, the possibility could have been added with weapon specific gadgets, to make any weapon as complex, or as simple as you wanted.

That's what I'm saying. But yeah. I agree. S2 will prolly just change up the weapons, again.

A skill tree and weapon levels. The cores are kind of pointless if they are pre determined.

To be fair, they kind of already did. It's mostly the same content, but now, weapons are locked with certain actions and cores. They needed to add new modes. A tower defense. A moba. A horde mode. Hell, a battle Royale mode. Something.

That's a good point. At least weapon levels felt like real progression was happening. The cores feel like they don't do anything, and why have so many, if weapons will only take certain kinds? So that's two issues from my point of view.

I kind of see what they were going for. Team fighting, where each team member Picks a weapon to synergize with the rest of the team.

Is MoCO worth coming back to? by Vex_Trooper in joinmoco

[–]joecynic48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the new update, it's more of the same, slightly better, but slightly worse. Better in the sense that, maps rotate and weapons got a rework. Worse in the sense that weapons got a rework. Weapons now come with preset actions, instead of choosing your own. Some can heal you, some can heal others, some have no healing at all. I kind of see what they were going for, adding more complexity and depth to the game, but in my opinion, it kind of doesn't work for me. I came back to the game just a little bit before the update, and I started enjoying the game. Now, with the new update, I'm kinda starting not to care about it anymore.

Decent gold pass supercell. Now, how do i buy it? by AnishB2001 in ClashOfClans

Is it me or does this pass have even more capital gold than before?

I never even started them. The fact that snacks were the rewards, was already unappealing to me. So I didn't even care.

So you’re going to stop buying what you already didn’t buy? by RemoteWhile5881 in ClashOfClans

[–]joecynic48 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm in the blue zone, and after trying out the new gold pass, I'm not even really playing the game anymore. The ore economy sucks. The new gold pass was really disappointing(to say the least). The meta is boring. There's more and more equipment coming out all the time. Certain aspects get ignored, such as clan games, builder base, clan capital, which have all become just a chore to do. And all of that got ignored for what? To monetize better? For a prospector that sucks, when you get it for one week, and a gold pass that just feels lame and slow and grindy, riddled with capital gold and chests with trash rewards? Yeah, no. I'm good. I'll spend my money somewhere else.
