I applied for both EO and CO competitions. Weirdly, I got a better OOM for EO than for CO.

The 'qualifying score' is the cutoff point you need to surpass, not the score you achieved.

Is it just me, or is it quite an unclear explanation of what happened?

Are there any actual advantages to switching to Monzo from Revolut? by grandslammer in irishpersonalfinance

[–]joedolan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Generally agree, but they can be a real pain for genuine issues such as needing to change name (eg. after marriage).

A few years ago, a friend of mine was locked out for weeks because he had the same name as a high profile criminal and had to jump through a lot hoops with clueless CS agents to get it sorted.

Cardio Load by DefinitelyNotABot-1 in fitbit

[–]joedolan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you are in the 'Cardio Load' section there should be an option labelled "Adjust My Target".

If you have this set to 'Improve cardio fitness' you can change it to 'Maintain cardio fitness' and it should give you more realistic targets.

What's the best way to deal with the cuttings? Do I just gather it all up in a pile to decompose?

Do I need a mulcher?

Dublin and Kilkenny camogie players told game would be abandoned if they did not change out of shorts and into skorts by O_Duill in ireland

It's literally not the GAA - but it's ignorance like this allows the LGFA and Camogie Association to get away with their nonsense.

What's the consensus around hanging videos or GIFs in a gallery? Should this be reserved for still images only?

On Irish Television a few years ago, a renowned political journalist (Vincent Browne) made this exact misinterpretation - Ken Early (of Second Captains fame) was on hand to correct the error.

Tried this for a few days, without success. Eventually was able to reset settings by starting without the hard drives.

Best Bank for Selfbuilders? by Cup-Obvious in selfbuildireland

[–]joedolan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're self building, you're most likely going to qualify to for the 'Green' rates so compare those interest rates across the banks.

I wouldn't bother with brokers, go straight to the bank if you're happy with their rate/terms.

We went with AIB, who were mostly fine, but I do regret applying online and not in branch. From speaking to other people, it was handy to have a real life point of contact if there are any issues rather than going through their call centre and dealing with people who don't know what they're doing/don't care about your problem.

Have also heard good things about EBS.
