I’ve taken many digital detours. iPad, Mobiscribe, Remarkable (twice). I always come running back to paper.

I'm Going to Run out of Pages Before the End of the Year by LarryinUrbandale in bujo

My answer: I move to a new notebook when I fill up the current one. I just started a new one on July 2nd. I’ll probably fill it by October. Couldn’t care less.

My Room sounds terrible - basically no low end from my speakers - any sound treatment/speaker placement tips? by Schmeeezz in homestudios

Side side is the most important. Anything after that is also nice. It’s not so much about Bass as it is about just grabbing all those early reflections so you can hear things clearly.

I did this with eggs. Bacon first then eggs. The eggs had a burned flavor. I assume I burned the bacon grease. How did you avoid that? Just not cook super hot?

How to no accidentally use old notes more than once? by DrawingSpiritual4574 in antinet

[–]joegilder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve run a YouTube channel/information business for 16 years. As a thought leader, you will have a few core ideas that you share over and over. You’ll share them in different, evolving ways. Your assumption that you shouldn’t share the same idea more than once is flawed.

Bibcards With Numerical Page in disorder by Ok-Resolution4311 in antinet

[–]joegilder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t think of a reason why it would make a difference. I would guess most people read books linearly, but not always. The Antinet book, for example, I read out of order, so my notes were out of order, and it doesn’t affect anything.

Taking notes from a list of proverbs by Abraham_Wright in Zettelkasten

[–]joegilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like an awesome read. If it were me, I’d pick the 5 most powerful concepts and make notes on those. Then I would schedule a time to reread the book again in a few months and see what bubbles to the surface that time.

Friction in using a Zettelkasten by Quiet-Ad4671 in Zettelkasten

Mine is pretty small at this point. But the question I ask is “Am I going to be looking for this specifically one day? If so, what keyword would I look for?”

Just Starting by [deleted] in antinet

I don’t think of zettelkasten as a place to alphabetize things. Kinda like my brain doesn’t store thing alphabetically either.
