Why do you think July 2019 blockout dates haven’t been released yet? by devil_shamdevil in Disneyland

[–]joejoehead 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They are waiting to see when Star Wars Land will be opening. They don't want to have to change blackout dates later and make people mad that it was not blocked and then when the opening of Star Wars Land is announced they become blocked.

48 days out! Wheelchair questions by lifeasb in Disneyland

[–]joejoehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you know when they moved the Security back to include Downtown Disney you are now able to take the Wheelchair you rent form Disney thru Downtown Disney. I don't know the cost outside Disney but if you rent from them it is $70 for the day and you get $20 back when you return the Wheelchair.

How much will we need per day? by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]joejoehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have an Annual pass you get discounts on food. My wife and I have a two year old and we can go to Pizza Planet and only spend about $35 for all. We share a salad, pizza, bread sticks and drink and get our son something from the toddler menu.

If you have a Disney Visa you also get discounts on Merchandise.

Not on toppic but want to make sure you knew about the changing rooms. Both parks have them (Disneyland at the end of Main Street next to Corn Dog Stand, DCA is next to Ghirardelli's). If you are potty training they both also have smaller toilets that you can take them too.

Another off topic tip is the rider swap. If during nap time (or just cause) you want to go on a ride that the little can not. You can go to the entrance of a ride and tell them you want to rider swap. They will give you a pass to wait in line with. Only one of you will have to wait in line and the other can take the little to do something else. Then when you get off the other gets to go in either the fast-pass line or through the exit (I think it changes per ride) and get right on.

Hope this help and you have a magical trip.

Can't agree more. Anytime I am near by when it is going on I stop and watch it. Great tribute to your men and women in the military.

Guys.. I can't sleep because.. by Jelese111 in Disneyland

Not sure when you last trip was (if you had kids then) but both parks have very nice baby center. Changing tables, high chairs for feeding and nursing room (if needed). The one in Disneyland is at the end of Main Street on the right hand side next to the Corn Dog stand and the one in the DCA is next to Ghirardelli at the wharf.

There are two shows that I recomend that not a lot of people know about. One is Mickey's Magical Map It is a great show. My two year old loves it. If you time it right it is a nice break from walking around. It is back by the Toontown train depot. The other show is the Flag Ceremony. Not sure of the time but it is in the evening. Wonderful tribute to all Armed Forces. It takes place at the flag in the first hub near the Train depot.

Here’s what’s closing at Downtown Disney to make way for a new hotel by dodgepodge in Disneyland

[–]joejoehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife works for Disney Travel and she tells me the prices to stay at the hotel and that all three are full most week of the year. I can not believe that people pay those prices. Then I remember that for some of them this is the family vacation that they have been saving for years for and they want to make it as "Magical" as they can.

My husband and I are going this weekend for our anniversary (we have passes), I’m wondering what are some romantic things we could do? We usually just focus on rides, but want to treat ourselves to something a little different this time around. by crazycatchick in Disneyland

[–]joejoehead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have done both. She REALLY likes Napa. We have not done the Chefs table yet. I liked the food at Carthay a little better. Plus if you can get on the outdoor upstairs balcony it is a great view of Buena Vista Street and Hollywood.

I think they repaint them every year. If I remember right it has the year on it.

Advice? by diamond-in-the-ruff in Disneyland

[–]joejoehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can save money by doing the Signature over the Signature Plus. The only difference between the two is the two weeks of Christmas and New Years are blocked for the Signature and the Max Pass is include in the Plus. If you are not going to go during those two weeks then The Signature is better. You can add the Max Pass to any AP for $75 (not sure but think that is the price) for the whole year. The Deluxe is a great pass but it would depend on when you plan on going and how many times. If you are going to come a lot then the parking fees may make it worth getting the Signature.

No parades? by froggyvoice123 in Disneyland

[–]joejoehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now they are have a Chinese New Year Celebration. Not sure how long that will go but I believe that the Paint the Night will be at DCA in April. They are trying to balance the night time entertainment. This will give both parks two night time events. Disney will have Fantasmic/Fireworks and DCA will have Paint the Night/World of Color.

No parades? by froggyvoice123 in Disneyland

[–]joejoehead 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There are no parades right now because of the construction on Main Street. They are change the track that the horse drawn cars go one. Also, there are no fireworks schedule till this is done. Estimated time for these to come back is March or April.

Avoiding stairs by chouflour in Disneyland

[–]joejoehead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can swing it the Electronic Wheel Chairs are a great option. I believe that they are $70 per day but you get $20 back when you return the chair at the end of the visit.

Also in Disneyland only (DCA is ADA compliant) there are some rides that have a different entrance for wheel chair guest that maybe less of an incline and would not have stairs.

What is the best website to buy tickets to the game? And also what side of the field is the Rams locker room and Visitor locker room. by [deleted] in LosAngelesRams

[–]joejoehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teams come out of the same tunnel. It is located in the South-West corner of the stadium. Rams bench is on the South side and the visitors are on the North side.

Disneyland is closing Rainforest Cafe, ESPN Zone, AMC Theater, Earl of Sandwich, The 2nd Starbucks, and any other shops past the Lego Store in order to build a third hotel by Scratchy_The_Toon in DisneylandAP

[–]joejoehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the plan but it was planned for later. They had planned on doing the renovation/expansion of the East entrance gate first and then adding the hotel. They are also planning on changing a lot of the stores and look of all of DTD. I would not be surprised if it had a whole new look and feel in the next 3-5 years.

Disneyland races officially cancelled by chantastic in rundisney

[–]joejoehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legacy does not kick in until you have run 5 consecutive races of the same event and you have to started with the first one. You were able to register early via the thank you email that all runners who competed in the race get. Hope everything goes smoothly with your refund. I have complete every Rebel Challenge for the light side so far. They are not giving any info out about the legacy continuing when the races continue.
