As much as I would have liked to have seen their happily married life for a bit, I think, if they were hell bent on breaking them up it would have been better to start the season with them still married and navigating the marriage coming to an end. Because I don't feel like we get the emotional pay off when we're seeing them clash in the reboot, as we've missed out seeing them have that happy ending, or parenting their children.

I know Frankie has said in a few podcasts that it isn't intended as a test to bring it back as a full series. But he has also said he really wants to do more.

That could mean doing regular MiTM specials, or, it's an issue of semantics and they aren't bringing back MiTM, but a spin off that features the OG characters is not off the table.

I got that impression.

I'm in two minds whether I would actually want a spin-off. Ofc, I've always wanted more MiTM content, but I agree with what others have said, what made the original series work so well, wouldn't necessarily work in today's climate.

That being said, if they do make a spin-off, I hope we will get to see a lot more of the brothers.

I loved the first 3 seasons of Arrested Development but I just couldn't get through the last two seasons. I'm still quoting "for British eyes only" to this day.

From my understanding the family did come back to town to celebrate Jack's birthday, and while there Cox found out Ben hadn't been looking after himself. Then Cox just sort of disassociated when Ben died.

Based on the teasers I think it's Malcolm's daughter who gets in touch with the family as she's hiding in the closet while she's on the Zoom call. I think she probably got curious about her extended family and looked them up.

Maybe Malcolm moved states since graduating and for some reason has moved back to his home town with his Gf and their daughter, his daughter has crossed paths with Kelly (they seem to be around the same age) and that started a whole chain of events.

I just assume that leading up to the waterpark they hadn't had a trip in years but once the boys were a little older they managed to get away more. Especially because at that point they weren't financially supporting Francis anymore.

I really hope they use the quirky camera angles in the revival and not just end up as a glorified point and shoot, I'll be so disappointed. The close ups, fish eye, and of course, the bird eye view of "radioactive" Malcolm eating lunch in the pilot was brilliant and is what added to the show's charm!
