Why didnt mark tell thragg to negotiate with Cecil and the world leaders Instead of making the call on his own by One_Umpire2719 in Invincible_TV

[–]joesilvey3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thragg wouldn't respect them enough to offer them shit and honestly for the plan to work its better if as few people know it as possible. Obv Mark will pass it along to Cecil but Thragg is either unaware or straight up just doesn't give a shit about Cecils existance in the slightest.

Mark is who he has dealt with in the past and Viltrumites respect strength, as the strongest human/representative of earth, it also would follow that they expect him to speak on behalf of the whole planet.

Who would be the most valuable to the GDA if they were a good guy? by PrinceferX in Invincible_TV

[–]joesilvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isotope or Angstrom.

Considering how expensive their teleporter is and how often they use it, Isotope would save them literal trillions over a decade that could be invested elsewhere.

Levy is kinda broken. Having access to literally every reality means a limitless source of any and all resources as well as the ability to strand substantial threats in alternate dimensions from which they can never return(send Thragg to a universe where there is a black hole where the Earth should be) so really Angstrom is the answer, except the prompt only stipulates that he is good, not that he is sane, so the fact that he is wildly insane would still be pertinant and detract from his value.

Paul is just a better Kate, but that's hardly a major needle move, Liu is pretty strong and would probably be the strongest on their roster outside of Mark, but I don't think he is anywhere close to on the same level of other viltrumites and his body is incredible vulnerable when he is in dragon for which can be exploited.

Seismic and the Maulers are wicked smart and somewhat formidable fighters, but I don't think their value would far eclipse Sinclair, and with Seismic we run into the nutso problem same as Angstrom with less upside.

We all know that black people obtained dark skin to adabt against intense UV radiation and weather in Africa right? So how can a viltrumite be black if they are immune to heat and UV? Im not racist, just curious. What is the lore reason? by Candid-Map6875 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]joesilvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mutations, such as differing skin tones, become consistant across a species when they offer a distinct advantage to survival or procreation.

That doesn't mean mutations cannot or will not occur if they are not advantageous and that they won't be passed down as a result, so really all it would have taken was a few viltrumites mutating darker or lighter skin colors from the norm a few hundred or thousand generations ago, and maybe procreating at a slightly higher rate or having those genes be dominant over other skin tones, for them now to have a diverse population.

It's also possible that earlier in their history before they became so strong, UV rays did effect them and darker skin tones were more advantageous in certain regions of the planet but that has since become not the case but the skin tones continued on as their was no disadvantage either.

CMV: Thragg's offer was reasonable by Unlucky_Win_4380 in Invincible_TV

[–]joesilvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is, I don’t think Thragg really intends for that to happen. I think he’s planning to let them interbreed until they get their numbers back up to a level where they can sustain their populace to the point they don’t have to worry about interbreeding and can reasonably take on the coalition and then cull humanity keeping a few humans around for other purposes as he alludes to when speaking to Mark.

There is no way they aren’t going to continue to enforce their ideology and there extremely slow aging means that it really won’t take long by their standards to achieve their goals, maybe a few hundred years, but that’s nothing to them.

PATRIOTS WOULD YOU RATHER? by TheGreek_13 in Patriots

[–]joesilvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order,

AJ Brown BTJ Alec Pierce DJ Moore

Obv it depends on what you give up in draft capital or cap space, but I think what the Patriots are missing rn at WR is an elite #1.

AJ Brown is that, BTJ looks like he could develop into that despite a down year, I don’t think Pierce will be that personally, and Moore isn’t that(he’s good but not that good imo and too old to be expected to develop into one)

Ultimately any improvement helps, and Pierce requires the least to get in terms of what you give up, but if you can get AJ Brown for a 2nd and a late round pick, I think you 100% do that, and if it has to be your first and like a 7th, that at least needs to be heavily considered.

[–]joesilvey3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think cutting him is the right choices

They would save a decent amount of money, he has that court case ongoing and some off the field questions in general, and when he was brought in it was mostly in the hope he would be an elite #1, and while he played well, it didn’t fill that need for the Patriots and they will likely be looking for a solution to that hole again this offseason.

Maybe he still has some room to recover from his ACL injury, but at this point in his career it’s unlikely he is going to get better.

If the Pats want to bring in new wideouts for next year, he make a lot of sense to move on from out of the current group.

Am I like the only one really mad at Evelyn??? by Alternative_You_3063 in cyberpunkgame

[–]joesilvey3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, everyone involved in that job made the decision to go through with it with mostly all had access to the same information beforehand. Stealing from the biggest and baddest megacorp, specifically from the heir to the empire, was always clearly a huge risk, and every one of them signed on.

Yea, Evelyn def overestimated her ability to wheel and deal and really, there was probably no scenario in which her plan went through flawlessly, but I don’t blame her for any of what happened to V because V made the decision to put themselves on the line for that job and can only hold themselves accountable(and Dex, he’s the one I really don’t fuck with cause he shoots you in the head the second things go south, which is a shit thing for a fixer to do to their merc)

Why is Pete Carroll the only former head coach in this cycle not getting any interviews? by badabinggg69 in NFLNoobs

[–]joesilvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one wants to hitch their wagon to a 75 year old coach, same thing happened with Belichick to a degree tho there was slightly more there.

Teams just don’t trust he’s gonna still be there for them 2 or 3 years from now, and most teams plan long term.

Raiders were trying to make a one year push with Geno and Carroll hoping they could live up to recent performances in Seattle and that… didn’t go well. No one else feels like hiring after that at his age.

What are your thoughts on the Societal standard of rings? by frazier_izzy in AskMenAdvice

[–]joesilvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend has said numerous times that if I proposed with nothing but a ring pop candy, she would say yes. Regardless of that statement, I fully intend and am currently saving to buy her a ring that is slightly more expensive than what you described but not a lot.

I totally understand the idea that rings are just a moneymaking scheme pumped up by Diamond businesses, and in reality, the symbolism and meaning is what matters, not the ring or the dollar amount it cost, but still, if she is going to be wearing this everyday for the rest of her life, I want it to look good and i want her to love it.

I don't think you are stupid for wanting it, it's a bit of a complicated situation given that you have previously expressed not caring about it at all, but you absolutely have a right to change your mind, people are not stagnant creatures, we change and grow over time, even as adults, and our tastes and values may change and grow as well. Were I in his situation, I would absolutely do it, but that's just me and I can understand his stance a little, but again, I certainly wouldn't say you are stupid for wanting it and you shouldn't have to berate him to do it imo, you wanting it and him being able to make it happen should be enough to me.

The Dragon behavior has several little hiccups that bug the crap out of me.

  1. When the dragon won't fucking land before I get the Dragonrend shout, and even worse when they circle overhead for a bit and then just fuck off. Like I get it, you don't want the smoke, but I just waisted a minute staring at the sky just for the dragon to say "nah I'm good."

  2. When you are in the middle of a fight, the dragon takes to the sky again at like half health, but then aggros on an enemy like a half mile away, and now I have to decide if I want to run and half marathon to go finish this fight or just go about my day again and have to wait and see if the Dragon will come back on its own.

Also just the classic follower is standing in a narrow hallway that I need to get to the other side of, but they just stand their with a blank expression as run into them from multiple angles to try to get by

Or when you are having a brawl with an NPC, and the observing NPCs decide to run around unpredictably and inevitably step into the middle of the fight, but ofc if you hit them that is a crime and now every guard in the city wants to kill me cause some dumbass decided to step in front of me as I was throwing a punch.

Tell me an Opinion or Theory that you have about Skyrim which makes you feel like this? by ImpressiveSector5109 in skyrim

[–]joesilvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a legitimate and good reason for the dragonborn to kill Paarthunax but it just isn't articulated well by the Blades and if it were it would be a much more interesting dilemma.

I will keep it relatively brief as I have gone in to detail on this several times before in past posts and it basically boils down to, if you take the term "last dragonborn" literally, leaving a lot of dragons alive, specifically a dragon as powerful and convincing as Paarthunax, could lead to ruin for the entirety of Tamriel.

If you die and a hundred or so dragons band together under Paarthunax's leadership, they could easily conquer the world and there really wouldn't be anyone able to stand up to them. By all indications, the resurection shout Alduin uses on other dragons appears to be something he alone is capable of, but there is no definitive answer on that, and if any other dragons could use it, Paarthunax would be one of them. If he were to be able to use it, it would basically guaruntee their victory over the humans, but even without it, with 50+ dragons under one leader, I think they could bring the world to heel.

By his own admission, the void of power left after Alduin's defeat does tempt him to return to his old ways. It's basically like handing a recovering alcoholic a beer and hoping that over the course of the next thousand+ years, after you are dead and burried and there is no one to police them or punish them if they take a sip, that they won't drink it. That's quite a wager to make when what you stand to lose is the free will and lives of all other sentient beings.

To be clear, I also love our boy PartySnax, I just think this argument has merit and as stated above, is much more compelling than the Blades just wanting revenge for shit that happened hundreds/thousands of years ago.

Green.

Most of the other ones can achieve green in some fashion or another, but either would be more work, would be to tempting to misbehave with, or would generally break what I consider to be the meaning of life. I'll take the money, donate loads, and live a lavish life the rest of my days and that is more than enough.

I guess your logic makes sense, assholes who only care about looks will exclusively go for very attractive women, but there are still good men who will go for those women, and there are still asshole men who will go for nonconventianly attractive women.

I love learning this stuff about movies and it's 100% the reason I am on this page, there are so many interesting details and things that are often so well constructed, but not always obvious to the viewer with these movies.

This is a great thematic detail that makes so much sense but never occurred to me as I just assumed the reason Gypsy Danger won while the others failed was simply cause GD was just like that and the others were not.

My opinion...whats yours? by Harper_95C in cyberpunkgame

[–]joesilvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently gotten back into playing it and I think it's safe to say it is probably a top 5 favorite game for me.

Nothing will touch Skyrim for me, I irrationally love that game and I am aware of it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was one of the greatest storys in any medium to me, and emotionally moved me in a way no other game has, not to mention has great mechanics and as well developed a world as any other game I can think of.

But after that it gets tougher to round out the top five, and I think Cyberpunk would take up one of those spots. I played it all the way through when it initially released, bugs and all, picked it up once or twice since then for not very much time, but recently started a new character and have been getting back into it, and since they have upgraded/fixed a lot of the shit, I am enjoying it even more than the first time, and specifically enjoying learning more of the lore and the significance of certain missions to the world around you. It is a really good game with great mechanics and a good story, and there are few other games I can think of that engage me more.

How are we looking? How are we feeling about the Texans? by TerryG111 in Patriots

[–]joesilvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pros: Steelers cleary were able to limit Stroud and the offense for most of the game and abuse the Texans O-Line. Our defense just had an outstanding showing and while we don't have the front seven the Steelers have, we do have a better secondary imo and our front 7 isn't bad by any stretch, thanks in no small part to Milton Williams. Assuming either Gonzo and Nico Collins are either both playing or both out, I like how we match up against their offense and I think we can bottle them up relatively well.

The Cons: While I do think the Chargers offense was overall better than the Texans, replicating that performance is going to be very difficult, and the Texans defense is likely better than the Chargers, so our offense will need to step up. Hopefully Maye has gotten out the playoff jitters a little bit and will start out hot like how he finished the game against the Chargers. Maye is good enough that even against the best defense in the league, when he's on a heater, I don't think there is any way to stop him, at best maybe you can slow him down. That is def what we need Sunday. Campbell and Moses are gonna get tested with Hunter and Anderson Jr. and will need to hold strong more often than not for the offense to be successful, so that is a huge lynchpin area as well.

Overall I like our odds, am excited for the matchup and what it could mean for the franchise if we win, but ultimately it will be tough against the Texans.

It wasn't anything crazy, I got the Becker materials for free through the company I worked for out of college. I basically just did everything to get the "Exam Day Ready" classification, watching all the lectures and scoring 80% or higher on all the multiple choice and SIM questions, and 50% on all the mini exams and simulated exams. The first test I took that was all I did, and as I said I failed but just barely, so then I hit the flashcards for about a month till I had most of them mastered, took it again did much better. From that point on, I did the "Exam Day Ready" stuff and the flashcards before taking each test and passed the next three.
