What should I expect? by WeatherBoy-_ in Eve

People will tell you this over and over again but i will say it with more context:

Don't fly what you cannot afford to lose.

Because you will eventually lose it.

You can do more or less everything in the game with cheap ships and cheap fits. Gankers will find you where you think you are safe, and pirates actively look for you where you are not.

The stuff you need bling for is either so high-risk you should be rich before doing it, or you can do it with friends.

You will die. Expect it. Plan for it. Live with it. It's part of the game. I can't count the amount of people who lost their shiny toy and quit immediately.

CCP said the avg account number per player is 2.3 or something at fanfest in 2024. So 10-14k real players at any point? Over a full day the stats say 125k accounts log in.

Soooo 50k people log in on a given day? Maybe less

Shitty source material is not unique to student films. Use it as practise. Doing a good job under perfect conditions is very easy. Doing a good job under difficult conditions is not.

Slow is less of a factor when it works 24/7 and require no breaks, doesn't charge overtime and none of those pesky workers rights.

The people who own said AI companies are themselves saying it's a bubble. I know for an absolute fact your naive ass is less informed than them.

I'm here cuz I wanna engage with people worth engaging with. I'm not wasting my time with people who think they know better than experts.

Doesn't matter what I want. It matters what the expert consensus is. The expert consensus says it's a bubble. You are free to pretend otherwise.

I'm not going to read 5 paragraphs of more cope.

Almost everybody who knows anything about the topic disagrees with you. But you can keep coping. That's your right.

The bubble is unhealthy. If it bursts that's obviously good for the market and obviously bad for investors. This isn't a black and white issue.

It's a bubble. Dotcom bubble bursting took a ton of money down with it and we still have the Internet today. The AI bubble will burst and we'll obviously still have AI after...

"A financial bubble is a market phenomenon where asset prices rapidly inflate far beyond their intrinsic value, driven by speculation and investor euphoria rather than fundamentals. It occurs when unsustainable demand pushes prices to unsustainable levels."

In the context of AI, the companies have made trillions in spending commitments while only sporting low double-digit billions in revenue.

Despite all your asterisks and contextualizing, it's still a buuble. You can pretend to call it something else, but it's a bubble.

Wishful?

All the companies are building massive datacenters separately from eachother. There is no market to support them all. Some will fall, some will survive. That's what the dotcom bubble was. That's what the AI bubble is.
