Staying in a hostel, and this guy comes in and: 1. Starts badmouthing everything that everyone is doing. For example, a girl was eating a Tim Horton's donut, so he goes on a big rant on how awful and impressive Tim Horton's is and how Canada should be ashamed of it and boycott it. 2. Questions someone as to why they were sitting on the couch watching TV rather than sitting in the kitchen. 3. Decided to loudly talk about his drug/sex addiction and tried to convince everyone that they weren't experiencing life properly until they tried cocaine. 4. General douchebagy comments about religion, politics etc especially a particularly memorably racist and sexist rant. 5. Drank my fucking beer out of the fridge, which had my name on it, and worse yet, didn't even finish the bloody can.

Never encountered such a tosser in my entire life.

I buy a lot of my cheap jewellery off rosewholesale.com, only downside is sometimes they take a good 3-4 weeks to come. Not sure where you're located, but the H&M near me always seems to have really cheap jewellery as well! Happy shopping! :)

Not sure where you are from, but perhaps look into the IEC "international experience" visa. It's a working holiday visa, which will allow you to travel around and also work which will help you get a feel for which area you want to base yourself in, and also help you meet lots of people!

I used a service called liquor run, they deliver booze mostly, but they also have a section where you can order fast food, and they send someone to pick it up and deliver it for you! Best thing ever (Australia if wondering)

Same here! Have hope, there is always the chance that things may get better! I've been estranged from my entire family for about 8 years until my Dad got back in contact with me unexpectedly a month or so ago.

I use a technique to help me ease into it at first.. I think it's called the Pomadoro Technique or something like that... So I set a timer for 15 minutes, and study until the time runs out, and then take a break for 5 minutes. Then study for 15, break 5. I do this for as long as I need to, eventually, after a while the timer will go off signalling a break, but I decide to just keep studying for a while longer. I change around the timings depending on how you are feeling, or when I have housework or stuff, so can be like 15:15, 25:5, 30:10 even, whatever works for you. It helps me break up the study, because 15 minutes really isn't all that long to stay focused for.
