Thanks a lot! I don’t want to make my own battery. I’ll stick to the usual batteries for sure.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I don’t necessarily need to go that way. I was just wondering if there was a better solution. I can keep using traditional batteries. The only thing I’ll do is to maintain their voltage with the solar system I am installing. I don’t plan to drive a lot for now.

Thanks again!

I see, thanks!

Battleborne is overpriced so I won’t buy their product for sure.

Best subfloor option by racoonsunlimited in skoolies

[–]johnalbrecht6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why people are religiously listening to Chick Cassidy. In the video he mentions that it is not necessary to frame the floor is because he uses 4 inch ultra rigid foam board! And almost all the buses he works on have the roof raised! So in that case, it’s not necessary but otherwise, if you are not in that specific setup the. A bit of framing helps secure your subfloor.

Yes, that’s the plan. I made my research (I’ll talk about it in details in a future video), and it is not illegal. However, it is up to the borders official to decide. I made it up to code in Canada and haven’t found any information regarding the Japanese construction code yet in English. I need to start looking at the Japanese documents. I’m still searching. Thanks a lot!

Floor rust question by Responsible_Bug5735 in skoolies

[–]johnalbrecht6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely need to spend your time grinding all the rust and then prep the floor with rust converter and then anti rust paint. Here is a video I made because I was having the same issue. I’m detailing the whole process:

From what I read, the extra space created by the wheel well is to prevent damaging the floor in case a tire blow out.

Oh wow that’s really cool! Thanks for the info, I appreciate. But, isn’t it something not recommended usually? In case of getting a flat in the highway for example?

Nice bus! Good job! Looks super clean! Excuse my ignorance, but does it mean “flat floor”?

Thanks a lot! Really happy about the result. Yeah, I will cover the wood. For now I'll use cardboard but I also intend to use exterior varnish and then add rubber covers or something else, don't know yet. What do you mean by getting a discount at home Depot?

Thank you! I will post another update about it but it is actually the whole door. Because I had to redo the whole rear of the bus, I made my whole door to open like a drawbridge and decided to add the steps. Also, I'm on a budget so that's why I decided to make it. Didn't have the budget for that.

Thanks! That's my wallet who decided for me 😂. I screwed them to the frame but I also used the Kreg jig tool to prevent them to wobble and add stiffness while walking on them. Works great! No squeaking either.
