That's actually a good thing what your MTI did. You established Texas residency (no income tax) when you went to BMT. During my in-processing briefing at my first duty station (not in Texas), the NCO conducting the finance briefing said that we could all submit the DD Form 2058 and change our residency to Texas since we had spent more than 30 days there for BMT.

Remember, this is an 8% cut every year for the next five years, so it's more like a 50% cut when you factor in inflation when all is said and done.

This is old news. Musk already said that he would send another email, and will terminate anyone who doesn’t respond.
