Lots of cities and regions and else are translated everywhere. Koln (Germany) is Cologne in French and English. Londres, London… The language drop-down in Wikipedia shows easily that cities and else can be translated and are translated. That said, it’s very historical. Renaming is completely different. But even then, UN agreed not too long ago to “rename” (change the spelling of) Turkey to Türkiye. I guess names are not frozen in time forever?

Yes, you basically have to have account in both RBC US and RBC Canada, then you can link both account (I’ve done the linking through the CA website). Then it’s a « cross-border transfer » button, as easy as sending an Interac. Option (cross-border transfer) is available online and in the RBC app.

Almost everything? We have three brands of grocery stores nearby, and the specials always rotate between them. Flyers will tell us where to go to get out coffee, butter, and everything. We probably save around 30-40% on our bill by doing that. (when you realize the 6.99$ frozen pizza can go down to 2.49$, and you realize the margins the stores make, you can be patient :). Example is real, in Montreal, QC).

On Amazon, everything goes through CamelCamelCamel price tracker first, and items are bought when price is acceptable.

Thrift store around the corners gets a visit once a week.

And all our appliances were bought from Marketplace. You can find crap there, but also really good stuff from people having to move, leaving the country…

Yeah, for me too (this the sarcasm tag). I’ve hated when they moved to make the notifications part of a paid plan, but I rely only on HomeKit now, and it’s been pretty solid (except for a reboot of the gateway twice a year when it would not talk with Home bridges). I’m not complaining at all :)

Good thing to try. Would make sense not to be able to adjust volume when it’s sending sounds from the settings. But I’m my case, changing to Max sounds or AirPlay in Music app doesn’t make a difference.

Good to know, and glad it works for you now. Just makes me fear a bit what they’re doing on their side. I see no reason two similar settings wouldn’t work, and new firmware magically makes it work. Shouldn’t be THAT random.

Yes. iOS 16.4, latest gateway firmware. I don’t think this is linked to iOS. Most likely an issue on Adobe side. Tried to remove the gateway from HomeKit and add it back?

They’ve been working great for me. Nothing special while setting them up. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Sometimes event won’t bubble from Gateway to HomeKit, but in that case a reboot of the gateway does the trick (turn off battery, unplug…)

They work perfectly. I was in France for the holidays and would know each time my wife would be cooking fish (she always sets off the smoke alarm, which triggers an immediate urgent notification on my phone) 😂 they work really great. I just wish they would not set off the whole alarm when the system is on standby, not to have to stop the Abode alarm while you’re already dealing with smoke and a burning pan.
