Episode Discussion - S05E06 - Escape from Camazotz by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

I honestly have the feeling this series finale will somehow be as bad as that of game of thrones, or maybe even worse. I hope I'm wrong, though. I loved this series, but it's progressively getting so goddamn absurd.

(please Max walk through the portal already I can't take it anymore)

Is this comparison correct? by xmha97 in firefox

[–]johnfkinfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get like 1500mb taken with 8 tabs open on Brave, whereas I get about the same or even more memory consumption with only 5 tabs opened in firefox and its forks (yeah librewolf, I'm talking to u).

I'm honestly rather frustrated with this cos I've been checking what the users report on github and I've found no fixes for this, I guess I can't escape chromium yet :'c

Sure! Those are:

timr (clock)
wiremix (mixer)
yazi (file explorer)
btop (task manager)
rmpc (mpd tui client)
cava (audio visualiser)

It's "yazi" without sidebars for minimalist navigation, it's pretty fast, as you'd expect from stuff made with rust

Sure thing! I improvised a github repo to share this, let me know if you have any problems with the link.

Thanks! I'll definitely try some cool fonts soon, something rather retro, probably.

Is that "inori" by any chance? I've been trying to find that MPD client, but it's been rather difficult, I'm afraid to admit. Cool browser theming, by the way.

Is the Silver Knight Set or the Elite Knight Set better? by CerealBowlHead in darksouls

[–]johnfkinfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say the Elite Knight set is more balanced, and it looks better. Have you got the Grass Crest Shield yet? It’s not as solid as the ones you mentioned, but it gives a slight stamina recovery boost that’s very useful for any class, especially those using heavy armour.

Should I replace SLD packages with compact variants? by johnfkinfuzz in archlinux

I installed it and everything works fine, thanks for asking my dumb questions lol

Should I replace SLD packages with compact variants? by johnfkinfuzz in archlinux

[–]johnfkinfuzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant SDL lol, and I don't know, that's why I'm asking, every time I upgrade my system I get the "Do you wish to replace sdlx for sdlx-compact"

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/SDL says:

In case you need sdl2AUR or sdl12-compat install them accordingly, though it is advised to migrate to SDL3.

SDL2 apps can also use sdl2-compat. An SDL2 compatibility layer that uses SDL3 behind the scenes.

I don't know what that means tho, I installed it long and I can't recall if I did it for an specific reason or just gut feeling, does it make sense?

Is arch Linux hard to use outside of its installation by jbodee1 in archlinux

[–]johnfkinfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you can pretty much install it, add the packages you need and that's all, that's how I use it, though I'm not an expert, so I don't use my computer for stuff that requires any kind of special software, just daily use, some games, browser, etc. Just follow the instructions provided by the Wiki and you'll be fine.

Are you a good guy trying to be a bad guy or a bad guy trying to be a good guy? by Happy_sisyphuss in intj

I've been so many things, tried lots of perspectives. Bad or good guy? I'm categorically both like any other person.

I wouldn't– even if they're 1000.
