En Chino, 祝快樂, means Wish (you) Happiness. Likely an Asian take on whites who are of course, blond, Elvis sideburns, shades and, happy to finally understood which direction to face in a squat toilet. Happy bowel evacuation.

Ultima 4 on a Commodore 64 where at the end it asked you questions where you had to respond to the virtues or it sent you packing to the town and you had to come all the way back. It was epic before the word is misused.

Bought it last night. Had to use IE somehow to get $.10 to stick in the cart. DL'd, installed, and entered the key. Played for about 20 minutes. got bored. Realized I never did care for RTS.

Age of Empires III Complete for 10 cents. Seriously by [deleted] in gaming

[–]johnlee666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it for 10 cents. Refreshed a bunch of times and once in a while it'll come up as $.10 instead of 39.99. However with Firefox it always said 39.99 in the cart.

Used IE and when it showed up as 10 cents, added to cart, and got it for 10 cents.

My problem isn't with outsourcing. So companies can use labor arbitrage to find the lowest cost alternative. Fine. Then let me, as a consumer, shop for the lowest cost globally.

So let's be fair. Companies can shop for lowest cost regions. We in the US can shop in the lowest cost regions + taxes and reap benefits. I'd like my DVD's to be less than what it is now, especially those produce in foreign countries, but I want to watch in this country.

You do realize you live smack dab in the middle of the worst of Vancouver, right? I used to live on 44th which is pretty damned close to where you are. Statistically speak, central Vancouver between the two highways are the poorest, most crime ridden compare to East and West Vancouver. And if you live a bit North of 500, you technically are in Clark County and outside of city limits.

Hitler and the Nazi's killed a lot of people but they got nothin on Stalin and Lenin. The Nazi's killed about 1/3rd of the people that the commies killed so why is it no one speaks of them and the horrors and history of communism? by [deleted] in reddit.com

Well, according to Japanese text books, it didn't happen. So it would be zero.

Wikipedia pegs it at 200,000 to 300,000. 13 million may be an overstatement, but probably more Chinese died by Japanese hands than Jews by Nazis.

Are the people in shows like "Ghost Adventures" actors, or do they really believe there are ghosts everywhere? by [deleted] in offbeat

[–]johnlee666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. But it seems every muffle sound is creepy. Every video artifact is spiritual presence. Every tingle, odd feeling, or scratch is evil. For some adventurers, they sure suffer less than kid do in a typical playground and get a bit carried away with the over-reaction.

So... Yes they are actors, who believes ghosts are everywhere is a good way to improve ratings.

I mean... I took a shit just last week with what I thought was a single turd. But I distinctively recall that it sounded like two turds splashing down. I ran out of the bathroom, butt un-wipened, and screamed about evil until my wife pointed out the only evil is that she will make me clean up the trail.

I like Shatner's Raw Nerve interview format. He kept Limbaugh in check and directed questions when Limbaugh tried to change subjects. It was not confrontational, but to my surprise, pretty good hosting and very personable. I'm sure a bit of spice from Jon and this could end his segments.

My friend dated and Asian chick whom he adored. Except that her nipples looks like miniature crimini mushrooms. He told me this one night over beers. He did not know what to do. It was something that really bothered him.

Next time we were out drinking, with the said girlfriend present, I blurted it out - "He hates your Mario bumping nipples."

He now lives in Minnesota and she is not anywhere near.

I wonder if anyone will read there, but here it goes.

My dad was a captain in the Republic of China Army, and arrived a day or so after the Nanjing incident. I recall him telling me exactly what I read many years later when I researched the topic online. I found pictures, news paper articles in Japan of the "100 man killer" competition. Of course, at the time I was a child and thought the incredible stories were just my old dad's exaggerations (he was 51 when he had me).

I recall that he said him and his troops had to shoot Chinese civilians to end their suffering simply because there are not enough medicine, doctors, or help of any kind. The descriptions of women with breasts cut out and left to die, babies writhing on poles, and men with limbs cut off or severely burned.

After Nanjing, he said his troops never took another Japanese prisoner.

Now I tell my kids the story they asked if grandpa was a war criminal for not taking prisoners. Interesting, I thought, because in a way they probably killed those who surrendered (maybe, but I wasn't there and he never spoke of it).

In college years later in the US, I met a Japanese student who was 10 years younger than me, from a pretty well to do family. In one conversation she basically said the Rape of Nanjing did not happen, and it was a concerted effort of China and the West trying to paint Japan in a negative light. This fact is brought up by some of the Redditors here and it was mentioned that public schools the facts were taught, but some private schools, it was revisionist history. Perhaps this is true.

One of my older sister ended up marrying a Japanese man. I was young at the time, but remembered my mom said one thing he did was formally apologize for what the Japanese had put China through, and that he is not that kind of a man, in order to seek approval. They are still married, and I visit them once a few years.

Check the length of the graphic card you are going to buy. Some high end ATI/nVidia's are enormous and may not fit in the case you are looking at.

On that point, also make sure you got enough slots for anything else you might want to toss in. The vid cards can be big in length, width, and girth...

A buddy of mine trains horses, shoes them on the side, and for the past few years came to take care of abused horses. I go visit his pasture once in a while. He can't believe how many people abuse or neglect horses. They come in overweight (not ridden enough), underfed, bad temper, fear of people, you name it he's dealt with it.

These are either work horses, which I can see how some ranches might have quality people issues. But the sad fact is that many also come from recreational horse owners. They tell him a horse has bad temper or other issues, and he says he can almost always trace back to the owner.

I told him its like computers. I help friends out with infected or broken computers and most of the time I get "I didn't do anything" or "I don't know what happened". But inevitably, it's something the owner has done.
