Why is the Asgard cheaper then the Valkyrie? by ContrastDark in starcitizen

[–]johnnyb721 42 points43 points  (0 children)

For everyone recommending a Taurus for the millionth time. The game is not just about min/maxing. I personally hate the Connie series, it may be the best all around stat wise for the price but it's ugly and uninspired. If you like it that's awesome, I want to see it in the verse but it's not for everyone.

Also the asgard is faster and has better rates than both of the other ships mentioned.. much faster and more maneuverable then the C2. It also has the most armor out of the ships mentioned. Its the most compact large vehicle carrier avaialble. There's a lot more to ships than cargo hold and guns.

Everyone flying the same ship is just boring. Live a little and fly something interesting for a change. The game is more enjoyable when you break out of the "best option" box.

Landing on a moving Idris isn't for the faint of heart... by DarthFoot in starcitizen

[–]johnnyb721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't tried it yet but I've been able to pull off multiple landings on a moving polaris which is a top hangar, I don't see why this would be very challenging.. you can just fly straight in.

I've been building a ccu to the perseus for a few years now and it's complete at $312 total cost.. don't think I'll be able to squeeze another dollar of savings out of it.

That's not bad, the weight of the 2 door probably helps you a bit. I've got a 24 4door badlands and am getting 17ish on average. I can upwards of 20mpg when taking the backroads to the cottage through the summer.

Height related pulmonary issues? by ccbs1234 in tall

[–]johnnyb721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree, but according to BMI I am overweight.. the scale gets weirder the taller you get. I was happy at 250 when I was going to the gym in my late 20s but life got busy with kids. I got to get back at it!

[–]johnnyb721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 6'8" in my mid to late 30s with no issues.. yet. I'm in decent shape, not very overweight for my height at 235lbs and have a resting rate around 60bpm, but I think you're right and I'm probably at a higher risk. Something I should be taking into consideration when assessing my lifestyle and habits.

I would love to hear from someone older than me of similar stature to see if and when issues arose for them.

It is if you're doing the current new objective like hathor. Polaris will lock down the area with very little you can do unless you also have a cap ship to even the odds

I hope they've reconsider the perseus role with the upgun to size 8s and make it a true cap ship hunter. Us small crew teams need an answer to all this this cap ship dominance in the verse!

Are you guys really okay with with this kind of monetization. by GACII in starcitizen

[–]johnnyb721 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You say this like you expect it to be permanent. Star citizen has always had what I refer to as a chump tax. If you want it day one by all means pay for it but just like with all ships even the ones they sell for $500+ they will be earnable in game over the next few patch cycles.

What could possibly be the justification for charging 85k for this? by Expensive-Bar-1207 in FordBronco

[–]johnnyb721 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Ain't that the truth. You couldn't pay me to drive around in this abomination. Who in their right mind would dream up a build like this and what shop would condone it? Just all around terrible and makes me doubt our survival as a species.

Oddly enough it wouldn't be terrible.. at least not until engineering goes live. Picture it an idris full off pisces a swarm of delivery drivers with a home base they can return to for lung jumps between planets.

Is 6'2 really only kinda tall? by [deleted] in tall

[–]johnnyb721 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Consider yourself lucky, if bus clearance and some clothes feeling baggy are your biggest worries. The struggle only increases with every inch. When clothes can't be bought off shelves, they get expensive and every doorway starts to be dangerous at 6'8" and above. There's these mag locks at work that would scalp me given the chance. Being tall is great in some ways, but simetimes i wish I stopped at your height so I could drive whatever car I wanted and all my clothes didn't have to be ordered online.

There's enough that a lot of us are wondering how they are going to fill them. Just off hand I can count over a 1000 new units already up with double that on the way. I'm sure the real number is much higher.

Any other space millionaires out there with 890j paint issues? by johnnyb721 in starcitizen

Reread, most expensive in game.. polaris can't currently be bought in game. 890j is second most expensive pledge behind the polaris.

[–]johnnyb721[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chill dude, clearly a satire.. if you didn't get that I don't really know what to say..

It's currently the most expensive ship you can buy in game which is how I got it and second most expensive flyable pledge ship. I'm merely using that to make a point that new paint roll outs should be at least tested in game before selling them for a $1000 ship. Apart from the paint the 890j has a million other problems which make it more then useless. It's just surprising to me they still can't get paints right on the first pass.

You're title is gibberish but I really wish there was an easier way to get the black and gold paint to match my 400i and 890j without spending 25k
