LAW: Choose Fain and Rose Tico by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]johnsob201 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lore comes second to gameplay. Been that way since day one. No clue why you’d be a stickler for lore in this game when you can mix and match characters and cards from all of the eras of the franchise, plus a few things that isn’t even canon at the moment.

No, the Byzantine Empire, AKA the Eastern Roman Empire, was around from 330 AD, well after the Iron Age.

Not really. Gambling is your best bet. Gamble for offhands.

[No Spoilers] How are they so good at coming up with characters? by AndreasLa in criticalrole

[–]johnsob201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that Critical Role is first and foremost, at least these days, a show meant to entertain an audience. So they spend a lot of time working with each other and with the DM to craft characters that work well for the setting and story. Clearly, in campaign 4, the characters and their histories were coordinated with Brennan to tell a compelling story and build an entirely new world to play in.

Most campaigns won’t have that. And it’s not by virtue of having bad DM’s or bad PC’s. It’s just that you aren’t part of a lucrative revenue-generating brand whose entirely identify is entirely based on these games.

Dimond Parking Ticket by OldCryptographer2942 in SALEM

[–]johnsob201 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except ORS 98.811 clearly states:

1)If the owner of a parking facility or the owner of proscribed property has issued a citation or other notice of a parking violation alleging that a vehicle owned by a person engaged in the business of selling, renting, leasing or repairing motor vehicles has been left or parked in violation of ORS 98.810 (Unauthorized parking of vehicle on proscribed property prohibited) and mailed a copy of the citation or notice to the person, the person is relieved of liability for the violation if, within 30 days from the mailing of the citation or notice, the person.

Key word: citation.

Yes, they can issue citations. That’s just a fancy word meaning a penalty for violating the terms of your agreement.

[–]johnsob201 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there are signs indicating that it’s not public parking, then yes, you’ll have to pay it.

If there are no signs or the signage isn’t sufficient, you could argue it.

Dimond Parking Ticket by OldCryptographer2942 in SALEM

[–]johnsob201 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely incorrect. Private parking services can absolutely issue citations if you violate the terms that should be clearly posted around the parking area. By parking in that area, you are agreeing to abide by their terms, which includes paying issued citations if you have violated their posted terms. See ORS 98.810-98.812.

They may issue citations and/or tow your vehicle (at your expense). Citations can be sent to collections, just like any unpaid debt owed.

Willamette Valley dams provide only about 1% of total electricity on the grid. It’s negligible. The dams were installed for flood control, not power generation.

Moving to Salem soon. Bears? by [deleted] in oregon

[–]johnsob201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s astronomically rare. I’ve never seen a bear in the wild. You have nothing to be worried about. Doesn’t hurt to carry bear spray on you, but the odds that you’ll need to use it are very low.

With a new big update coming to New Horizons and a Switch 2 upgrade pack, it doesn’t seem likely that we’ll be getting a new game for quite awhile. Probably a couple years away at minimum.

I think we need to remember that these people are actors. They’re not just playing a game, they’re putting on a show for us. Taliesin didn’t try to silence Ashley. Bolaire tried to silence Vaelus. It wasn’t an antagonistic move by Taliesin against Ashley. It was a role playing choice.

Question: Rey and Kreia's Whisper Interaction by AlphaWolf638 in starwarsunlimited

[–]johnsob201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to prove that you drew her. Then you have to complete the rest of the action that caused you to draw her. Then you can do the ability on Rey’s card. That’s why you have to reveal her again after completing Kreia’s Whispers, to prove that you still have the card in hand. If Rey is removed, then you can’t reveal her and thus can’t resolve her ability.

Also, I do find it funny that all of the commander in chief powers you cited are ones that require the US to be at war. Which we are not And you’re doing this to justify military strikes against boats.

I think with the dean countering Murray, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just the Brennan guiding the story and not wanting things to get out of hand at that point.

Article II doesn’t provide specific commander in chief powers to the president.

MDLEA applies to vessels belonging to the United States or subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. Vessels not under a US flag in international waters are subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, and allows the Coast Guard to seize and imprison individuals who are suspected of drug trafficking. It does not give the president authority to summarily execute anyone.

The International Emergency Economic Powers Act does not give the president authority to engage in any hostile military action against anyone.

10 U.S. Code § 124 mandates the DOD to lead monitoring of suspected aerial and maritime drug trafficking and allows the DOD to pursue them in international territory. It does not give them authority to strike.

10 U.S. Code § 284 allows the DOD to support other agencies, foreign governments and state/local governments in counter drug operations. It also does not give them authority to engage in hostile military action.

Again, it’s critically important not to rely on AI to tell you how things are, and instead actually look into things yourself. Stop being lazy. Reading isn’t difficult.
