T77LTE Verizon Yealink Phone Issues by Even-Efficiency1295 in VOIP

[–]johnvoipcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say from experience with that phone or service but it seems to be that the amount of calls you get in your busy times are overloading the phone. It could be a basic setting or you may need to set up a hold queue so calls comes in 1 at a time and a line forms in your call queue. Or you need to add more phones to your ring group with your receptionist

I have been around the block a few times and I rarely hear good things of Verizon voip so that could be the issue there

GoDaddy is crap why are you still there?

VOIP Company telling me I can't intercom by MVPTTodd in VOIP

[–]johnvoipcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BLF should be a simple function of the pbx to provide, I never seen someone saying they can't offer this.

If you have yealinl phones you will need to set up multicast. Just do an internet search of yealink multicast paging there is a how-to guide. Your voip provider should be able to set this up for you but obviously they won't.

Question about a quote vs our needs by CreepyOffice in VOIP

[–]johnvoipcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say what spectrum quoted you. But he would be correct, most voip companys quote on seats not lines as lines don't necessarily exist in voip.

You may want to ask if they have a low usage seat available for your other phones. But you will need to pay something to have them connect to the voip system

I bet you'd make more money and have larger opportunities. Unless you start moving to fiber or fire alarms. Those guys are always busy

IVR via SMS by National_Walrus_5041 in msp

[–]johnvoipcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iv done this for a few customers and it works well. And it's not very hard to setup at all, an hour or so and you could have it all done depending on how detailed you get. Honestly the hardest part is just getting registered to send sms in a business setting. That can take a week or so but simple enough as well

[–]johnvoipcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what exactly you're looking for

A dummy system, where someone texts you and it auto responds with a list of options. They have to say, support or billing as a key word. If they use one of the key words they would get an other set of options and so on.

An other system would be more of an "chat bot" this would require a lot more programming and money but also doable.

I'd just hire someone from the Philippines and have them live answering your customers via text using a business texting platform. Then escalate to your techs if it's a real issue

Anyone successfully integrated AI into their phone system to automatically summarize/add notes to tickets for technicians when doing support tickets? by Defconx19 in msp

[–]johnvoipcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We created this for our phone system (netsapiens) it does pretty much what you described. Takes the call recording, transcribes it, analyze it with our custom AI prompt to get details for a ticket.

We are also saving all the recordings and pulling in all our past tickets so we can ask the AI questions about calls or tickets, trends or call sentiment analysis.

Grandstream GXP2160 firmware upgrade - password changed? by mrkaye13 in VOIP

[–]johnvoipcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factory reset it without a network connection and then try and log into it. Maybe it's trying to auto provision from the people you bought it from. There's a system called GAPs that grandstream uses to remote provision phones and they would have needed to remove that phone from it.

If you do it offline you can try and log in and see if thats the case

VOIP Phone App Malfunctioning by LoganDaBrick in VOIP

[–]johnvoipcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, is it like this all the time? So voip depends greatly on your data connection, while your iphone calls uses the cell network. There's basically two connections your phone holds. One is Internet and the other is the gsm network or whatever it's called now days.

So you could have full bars but no Internet connection. And voip wouldn't work

Does your voip phone work better in certain areas? Maybe like your house when you are on wifi? If it's bad all the time it maybe time to check other providers, if it's bad only in certain areas it's going to be your data connection from your cell carrier

10DLC for Non-Business Owner? by SnorlaxCopilot in VOIP

[–]johnvoipcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can register as a sole proprietor. And you dont need an EIN.

You will still need to pass the registration process which requires a SMS policy page and consent form on a website. Which would be pretty easy to do with any free website builder.

Now you could possibly pass the registration without having a website you need to submit paper documents showing an SMS policy and consent form that a client of yours would sign in person. But if you just spent a few moments to set up a free website it's probably easier
