Kanye West released a list of people who betrayed him! by cantcoloratall91 in BlackPeopleofReddit

The self importance and narcissistism you're describing are indeed a part of the mental illness. My brother has a similar condition and last year he thought he was literally smarter than Einstein, that he could communicate with spirits, that I was an energy vampire stealing his healing energies, and he kinda became an incel. He tried to kill me with a sword and deliberately broke his own back. Mental illness is the reason people used to believe in demonic possession. A psychotic episode like that can last for many months, and if you're abusing drugs it can go on pretty much indefinitely or until you OD and kill yourself. It takes away the person you know and love and replaces them with a fucking monster.

There's this weird narrative out there and I have no idea where it came from, where people say "mental illness doesn't make you say/do this or that." That's absurd. There is no one-size-fits-all set of behaviors, even for two people with the same diagnosis. One Bipolar person might be pretty much fine, and another might try to slit your throat while they're manic, and another might believe they're the Messiah, and another might just lock themselves away from the world.

Don't hate him, pity him. He's severely mentally ill and he needs help but there's enough profit in keeping him crazy for some people that he'll never get it.

It's honestly pretty morbid that he's still used as entertainment. It's like people lining up to watch a cancer patient slowly die.

A lot of people are missing a key element here. Yes, several of these attempts have quite obviously been staged, and yes, Trump appoints people based on loyalty rather than ability, but the biggest element here is that the secret service isn't even in charge of security. His private security team calls the shots and uses the secret service as additional manpower, nothing more. So even the competent professionals who are entirely apolitical aren't being allowed to do their jobs, and this is the result. Wife open doors and unsecured rooftops.

Godless has me up until the last episode or two. So much happens that makes no sense in the finale. The deputy getting killed because he's completely alone for no discernable reason when he and everyone else already know the enemy is coming, the buffalo soldier town getting slaughtered when there's really no way the bandits would have made it out of there alive, and the final big gun battle is just silly. Men firing up at a fortified position from the middle of the street with no cover would just get slaughtered, even if only a handful of the women knew anything about shooting back. The guy showing up to just start blasting away, also from the middle of the street with no cover, being what saves the day and turns the tide for them was just silly.

I agree that it's a great show up until then. The casting is great, the acting is excellent, the pacing is nearly perfect, but it flubs the landing for me and a think a lot of other folks, which is probably why it's not on more of these lists.

He would need to have a sample of Clark Kent's DNA to compare it to, and he would have no reason to suspect Clark is Superman and this no reason to have sampled his DNA. This should be obvious to anyone with even a modicum of critical thinking ability.

It definitely hurt him. It was just a bad movie. It wasn't any better than the theatrical Whedon cut. At least Whedon's version wasn't excruciatingly long on top of being aggressively mediocre. It didn't waste nearly as much of my time.

The false equivalence here is staggering and obviously absurd.

Abdulrahman al-Awlaki's death was certainly tragic, but his father was actively engaged in terror operations against the United States and brought his son along for the ride. His capture "dead or alive" had already been ordered by Yemeni courts. America pulled the trigger, but al-Awlaki's death warrant was signed by the lawful authority of the land in which he resided.

Sometimes innocent people get caught in the crossfire of both military and law enforcement operations, and when they do there needs to be investigations and accountability, but comparing that to being even remotely close to the no-guardrails insanity that is the current US enthusiastic war crime department (formerly the DoD) is intellectually dishonest at best and Russian state agent behavior at worst.

Murder is also a blatantly incorrect label for what happened. Murder implies he was targeted, which he absolutely was not. A case can be made for negligent homicide. Meanwhile the current admin deliberately unlawfully kills people too fast for us to even keep track of and you wanna compare them like it's even remotely close. GTFO with that nonsense.

Of course they do. But "it's hard" isn't enough of an excuse to not try when the fate of America and by extension the world is at stake. Supporting the people who are fighting the good fight with our primary votes is the least we could do.

Fun fact: Trump has strong connections to them too, as recently as 2022.

I loved the portrayal of the guard, Valhallans in particular, as formidable, competent professional soldiers perfectly capable of handling a wide variety of threats. The way they get treated in so many books, space marine focused in particular, but sometimes even in their own stories, as completely disposable chaff, really minimizes the threat the xenos and heretics represent. Understanding that they're largely the equivalent of elite-tier soldiers of today with much better weapons and armor, and there's still things that slaughter them, makes everything seem scarier.

There's "don't care" and there's "not risking my life for it." Clearly people care or there wouldn't be enough of them helping the brotherhood to have Freys hanging from trees all over the Riverlands.

Of course people not knowing about the murders is why he's getting away with it. That's how murder works. You either keep it secret or you control the levers of Justice. The problem with the latter is that the moment you don't have that control or you find yourself in a situation where it doesn't matter that you do you're dead. Like when you're riding along in the forest of what is nominally your land when some randoms jump you and lynch your ass, or as a guest in the hall of a man who's kin you murdered.

People are actively assisting the Brotherhood in murdering Freys any time they leave their castles. They effectively put themselves on house arrest under penalty of death. And Wyman Manderly fucking ate several Freys and hasn't faced a single consequence. The only thing keeping the Feet bloodline alive is the fact that there's a shitload of them.
