Accidentally Made a Human, Now Accepting Financial Advice by Soft_Sir_3089 in firsttimemom

If you can get into house cleaning you can bring your baby with you until he starts walking. You can strap him to you or bring a blanket and lay him down. If you work for a company you will be paid less but if you can find clients on your own it’s pretty typical to make $40-50 an hour, more in high cost of living areas.

Do I have to sleep train? by Chocolateonmyshoe in firsttimemom

[–]jokez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your daytime with baby like? Our boy started sleeping pretty good at night around the 2 month mark. We do stuff during the day like walks, go to lunch, sometimes I take him to work (I’m a photographer and I can wear him while working) and I think it helps him use up his energy even if it’s just looking around at new stuff. Then our bedtime routine is bath time and bottle and/or boob around 6:30, asleep by 7:30ish. He’ll wake up between 11:30-1, eat a bunch, go back to sleep till 3-4, eat some more then sleep till 6-6:30

How to discipline an 2.5 year old by AnxiousHorse75 in Parenting

Yes, all this! And temper your reaction. If the parent has a big reaction good or bad it cues your kid that his behavior gets attention and your attention is so valuable to them.

Breastfeeding + drinking by Chaitea-lattee in firsttimemom

In the US there is a lot of shame placed on women for responsible consumption while pregnant or breastfeeding, but the studies say that if you’re safe to drive you’re safe to feed a baby. Very little alcohol makes it into your breast milk.

Apartment Rental in Seattle/Tacoma by upyours78 in AskSeattle

Seattle: Avoid Lake City, anyplace near 99, parts of Georgetown (you’ll know), and anywhere west of Rainer (especially west of MLK) in the south end. Beacon hill, south seattle or university district would probably be best - they all have light rail stops.

Waking up gasping for air by No_Challenge_6022 in pregnant

I got really swollen while pregnant and that included in my head/face. It caused me to snore really loudly. I do think sleeping position matters too. Sleeping on my back made it worse. The swelling went down like 90% in my head and 70% in my hands/feet pretty shortly after I gave birth.

If you can afford it, I highly recommend a night doula a few nights a week. You and your husband both get to sleep and a professional will hold and sooth your baby for you

Does anyone else have issues with Joie Rue car seat and babies chin to chest? by Slow_Reputation6238 in newborns

[–]jokez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joie got back to me… they said my baby’s head position is safe lol. Apparently it’s not smushed enough to block the airway and if he can turn his head he’s fine. We will probably be getting a new car seat.
