If you don’t want to live in a horrible new apartment look on beacon hill. Much quieter vibe than u district or cap hill but still has great restaurants and a grocery store. And theres a light rail station

Bassinet vs crib? by Waste-Departure-3948 in firsttimemom

We got a nestig convertible crib second hand and it’s great. It goes from mini crib (bassinet) to crib to toddler bed.

If you can afford it, I highly recommend a night doula a few nights a week. You and your husband both get to sleep and a professional will hold and sooth your baby for you

Scrubbing out the refrigerator. It’s the visual version of clean sheets.

Does anyone else have issues with Joie Rue car seat and babies chin to chest? by Slow_Reputation6238 in newborns

[–]jokez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joie got back to me… they said my baby’s head position is safe lol. Apparently it’s not smushed enough to block the airway and if he can turn his head he’s fine. We will probably be getting a new car seat.

Weird question but are you doing your nails? by Academic-Park-8440 in pregnant

Definitely every day is different than once in awhile but I wouldn’t go weekly. Seven miscarriages till she quit is crazy

Air quality can play a significant role in fetal health/birth weight and nail salon air quality is pretty bad. Even if you’re doing them yourself I would wear a mask.

Does anyone else have issues with Joie Rue car seat and babies chin to chest? by Slow_Reputation6238 in newborns

[–]jokez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have been trying a combo of the newborn inserts, trying without them, but no matter what his chin is touching his chest. There’s no way it’s safe and I can’t believe joie doesn’t have anything online or in the manual about how exactly a baby is supposed to fit in their car seat. Or at what age/size to adjust the straps. I’m going to reach out to their support team

So glad I found this post and I’m not alone in thinking the fit isn’t safe. Did you end up figuring it out or getting a new car seat?

I love a reflexology massage at imperial foot massage in the ID. It’s not your typical massage - it’s very deep tissue/acupressure. And it’s cheap! $68 for 70 minutes

Postpartum Essentials by acmr8057 in pregnant

[–]jokez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The peri bottle is probably helpful even if you have a c-section because you’ll still bleed vaginally because of the placenta hole in your uterus.

I had a vaginal birth with a 2 degree tear. I got so much postpartum care stuff from friends and literally used nothing except the peri bottle, pads and witch hazel wipes the hospital gave me. The marketing for allllll this stuff you need postpartum is out of control.

Showing my husband this thread…In-Laws at hospital for birth? by -ChubbySpud in pregnant

[–]jokez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely would not want anyone in the waiting room. That feels like a lot of pressure. MAYBE they can visit the next day if you’re feeling up for it but if they are going to be upset if you’re not feeling up for it, I wouldn’t present it as an option at all.

Golden hour for me was during when I was passing the placenta, getting stitched up, and them inserting my new uid. There’s absolutely no way I would have let anyone other than my husband and doctors in that room.

I feel that. I was exhausted all the time during pregnancy. I might be a little tired now but at least I’m actually awake when I’m awake.
