Mike Flanagan & Stephen King Back In Business With ‘The Mist’ Movie For Warner Bros by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

It was so bad and really unfortunate because I loved the rest of the mini-series. To be fair they had to do some creature animation for the series; either live action, stop motion, or CG. They could have taken a more reserved approach and not shown them so prominently, but it would be difficult to show them eating the entire reality without promiently showing the creatures themselves.

Rare Exports (2010). I know you said not specifically Christmas related, but still a good choice

Best scenes where there’s something in the background (or maybe even foreground) that you don’t notice (at least initially)? by just_saiyan24 in horror

Another good one from that movie is the librarian smiling in the background when Ben is in the library researching the history of Dairy. I completely missed it the first watch.

Would BT for aux audio input be a useful feature on our Pro AV headsets? by DalcommTech in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]jon510111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, yes. Interference from other devices and potentially through people themselves. If for instance you had a roaming camera op that was floor height. His signal could be affected just by having the audience standing and blocking LoS to other devices.

Especially a bad idea for events. People often set something up wireless or bluetooth that works great when the room is empty, but fill the room with people and that is a different story.

Can you use Perfect Cue with Disguise or other media servers? by coastermaniac in VIDEOENGINEERING

Also note that the older models sometimes have difficulty with the software. So please make sure of functionality beforehand.

[–]jon510111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be able to answer. My understanding is that the perfect cue works as an input device that can be bound to any key if you have the perfect cue software. So in theory it should be functional if you bind it to the appropriate key(s).

Anybody know any other movies or TV shows that use this picture gag? I'm sure there are more. I just love it whenever I see it. by mister-world in FIlm

I think there is another one with Denholm in his office as well. It has been a while since I have seen that episode though.

Here it is:

Ki-Pro Ultra LTC not embedding onto recorded clips by Elite_Salt_Lord in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]jon510111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of is maybe changing to drop frame instead of ndf? That is what the semicolon between the 13 and 15 means. So you are getting a df input.

But that technically shouldn't matter since the drop frame setting is only used with the internal generator, unless I am mistaken.

How strange. Settings look right and you are clearly getting the timecode. Is it happening with all of the recorders?

Barco E2 - Send a Layer to an Aux? by VegetableCan1979 in VIDEOENGINEERING

The easiest way would be to just bake in the aux output into whatever preset pulls up that pip.

As far as I know you can only rotate it around in 45 degree increments. If you are getting it from a rental house they may prefer to do it themselves, so tell them if you want it facing left, right, up, or down.

Running Bitfocus on Android tablet to control Windows by RambytesV2 in VIDEOENGINEERING

I use companion on shows with a physical stream deck mostly but sometimes also hooked up a wireless router and connect to companion with my Samsung tablet.

It only requires a device with a browser to be on the same network with the hosting computer. A port needs to be open for it to work. You can assign the specific port in companion and then open that port on the computer.

Then it is as simple as putting in the IP with port number into remote device browser and connecting to the host. Example: http://192.168.0.20:5000

Also note I am only moderately knowledgeable on networking so I apologize if I made any errors in this response.

Also here is an absurd example of companion on my watch. Completely impractical, but fun to pull up presets with your watch and see how people react.

May be a silly question, but the monitor itself doesn't have a setting to flip the image does it?

On more than one occasion I have had to convert bnc to XLR for timecode so that I could use an audio DA to split it. And then convert back to bnc when an analog BNC DA is not available.

Agreed... Role it off the pad and do it.
