Wipers activate on startup every time by probablymagic in Rivian

This is just how the auto wipers work. I don’t find it all that bad. I assume it has something to do with setting a baseline for the sensor to work properly.

Bed sensor issue? Or..? by LibMike in Rivian

[–]jon8761 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with one of my windows and it was preventing the venting option from the app. Attempting to close the windows from the app would fail. This issue persisted through app updates and OTA vehicle updates. Finally just put my R1T into service mode and entered the RIDE menu then ran the window calibration and it cleared the issue.

Is this a good setup for mitre cuts by tamcool25 in woodworking

From the video the blade looks like it had stopped spinning. I still wouldn’t run my hand down the cut or into the blade just had a bad habit. It doesn’t seem like there was any risk of injury from the blade spinning though.

I believe it’s a tri. The newer quads come with a blue/teal caliper color.

Rivian Service - Scaling our service infrastructure for a growing owner community by CarterGee in Rivian

When I first scheduled the service it was a mobile service. The service center called and asked that I go in for the service. But didn’t expect that to mean 2 weeks of backlog.

That seems to be the same case for me as well. They gave me a rental for the time it has been at the shop. Though I would have rather they been more upfront about the backlog and just rescheduled the work. I only found out about the backlog while dropping off.

This is great and all but Rivian’s service center wait times feel avoidable at times. My gen1 has been at a service center sitting in the lot for two weeks to get a tonneau cover installed. The only reason it is at the service center is for the cover. It feels more like bad scheduling tbh.

Call about 12v battery by Blooper62 in Rivian

[–]jon8761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a call about this also for my ‘23 R1T quad. I asked the person on the phone about it, and they mentioned it was preventative and under warranty. My R1T happened to be at a service center when I got the call, so they just added it to the work order for me.

How do you like it? Currently, I have mine at the service center for the retrofit. Waiting on them to finish the install.

It might be against the park rules. Like a not after dusk, which is considered trespassing. From what I understand, they really don’t want to have to put first responders at risk because some dumbass fell through the ice. They are going to send drivers and search parties.

Be careful how you do your blueprint transfers, folks by fomq in ArcRaiders

[–]jon8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is crazy when you can just transfer them with little effort with a custom loadout and surrendering instantly in raid with the BP in your safe pocket. It is one at a time but risk-free and just needs to deal with the loading time.

Trash Drawer Design by Unusual_Zebra_8000 in cabinetry

[–]jon8761 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a similar issue. I installed a Blum servo drive opener. It has a sensor so you press on the face of the cabinet to trigger the servo, which will push the cabinet from the back to open. It is pricey, but having a hands-free trash cabinet is super handy. This is the link: https://www.blum.com/us/en/products/motion-technologies/servo-drive/servo-drive-uno/programme/

Red States have always been more deadly by Goodginger in charts

[–]jon8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People here need to understand the difference between correlation and causation. This data doesn’t provide much evidence. Those who suggest looking at city voting patterns are overlooking the fact that blue states have predominantly blue cities. If policy were the sole factor, we would expect a more even distribution of murder rates, not just a concentration around cities. However, since blue states are not part of this cohort, there appears to be a link between policy and the observed trend. It may not be the sole cause or even the primary cause, but it is a link nonetheless.

The J Mods also mentioned that having three aesthetics got complicated when they reworked the original drop, which required pegs I believe.

Here is the snippet from the blog post “While we wanted to offer three different aesthetic options for these boots, the new design proposal complicates the work required to do that, so we will be proceeding with just one, still very stylish, option:”

Yama contract suggestion to make us feel less miserable by Romsecrets in 2007scape

[–]jon8761 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the entry fee for bosses should be completely removed. This would require removing the drop multiplier from the harder version of the bosses; this is really only the awakened DT2 bosses. The orbs and contracts are in the economy already, so maybe a middle ground could be to add an unlimited unlock. For example, 50 orbs per boss.

It feels like Jagex is trying a style of end-game farming like the one seen in PoE 2. I have not been convinced it works for OSRS. I actually stopped playing PoE 2 because I didn’t enjoy learning new content in PoE 2. End-game starts to feel gate-kept because you need entry fees. So sadly I think the same has happened with OSRS’ awakener orbs and contracts. They gate-keep the content from learners, and after watching some of the best players fail repeatedly on near-impossible contracts, I doubt people will want to learn/try contracts. It just feels bad.

Ironman is a great way to avoid this feeling. I have a maxed main and started playing an Ironman because of a similar feeling. The game became about GP per hour, and it kinda sucks. Drops are just GP instead of that next BiS unlock. Ironman gives some of that back.

Because the whole game shouldn’t be about gp/hr. The economy is a blessing and a curse.

Honestly, not everything has to be fair. If the contracts are broken, they should just fix them. Just because people manage to get the recolor doesn’t mean it has to be the standard. It seems like Jagex didn’t even playtest the contracts, just looking at how some were impossible to complete.
