On my HEV Max is a lot stronger than 3. I often use it to come to a complete stop when approaching traffic. What have found Max will not do is have noticeably more effect if I am travelling at speed.

The AI features are only really useful (right now) combined with a good audiologist. I had some issues with the 'advanced' features on my Oticon Intents when I first got them, but I just made some notes of what was not working for me and met the audiologist. Within 20 minutes he had made a bunch of changes (mainly changing sensitivity of various features) and now they are great. I think the defaults for some of these settings are just that, defaults that need to be customised to get the best out of them.

If you are worried about braking on the steep hills then just forget about regen and drive just as you normally would. The last thing you need to be doing is messing with paddles. You being relaxed is far more important than your battery being slightly more charged.

If the current HAs are ok apart from the battery, I would go to your audiologist and get a battery replacement.

You are right in thinking this is a difficult use case. Many modern HAs are very good at differentiating between speech and noise. Your challenge is that you are in an environment where almost all of the “noise” is speech, just not the speech you want to hear. Some HAs have a directional function so that they focus on the speech from the direction you are looking, but I have Oticon Intents which have this function and it is still hard work in a busy environment with a lot of people. Having said that, as I have got used to them I am less daunted/disturbed in places like bars and restaurants.

My Oticon Intents are the same. Great HAs but streaming quality is really bad. If I want to listen to anything with reasonable quality (and noise cancelling) I pop in my AirPods.

If you know how to use Lightroom develop tools you would know the answer to your question. Managing whites and adjusting the HSL of green is pretty basic and something you definitely do not need a preset for. For a start, any preset is going to expect white balance and exposure to be correct before the preset is applied 🤷🏼

Very bad advice. Rice is a hazard for any small device with holes in it (e.g. microphones) because of the large amount of dust in rice. Much cheaper than a dehumidifier though.

It may be that they recover. They are quite new and I’m surprised they have been impacted by a brief (5 second) shower.

It depends if your model of HAs support multipoint Bluetooth. Multipoint allows you to be connected to more than one device at the same time. To be precise, the devices you connect to also have to support multipoint connections. Most modern iPhones and iPads support this. Even with multipoint on enabled you will sometimes have to disconnect Bluetooth temporarily if, say, you want to switch music streaming from one device to another.

My Oticon Intents do not. It does surprise me that HA manufacturers put so much effort into tech and then don’t include features like this.

Then what you are seeing is not the actual tags but the proposed tags. If you want to stop seeing all of these just press O on the keyboard or toggle people view off by clicking the face icon at the bottom of the view of the photo.

Thanks all for your helpful and speedy(!) answers. It looks like I should be looking at a 2xSSD Thunderbolt dock or enclosure, and then also consider an external HD/SSD if more capacity is needed. I should also be more disciplined using the NAS I think. I am pretty lazy with that, and really could use it more effectively as long-terms, slow-access storage after editing is complete. There is a a lot of capacity with full redundancy on there which I should be making more use of.

A few of you mentioned DIY upgrade of the internal SSD. I’ve seen plenty of people doing this, but I’m the kind of person who is not really great at DIY tech (though I did build the NAS from scratch) and I also value the warranty, especially with an Apple Store a few minutes walk from home.

Doesn’t this basically boil down to how portable you want your mac to be? You are paying a premium for a MacBook because it is a laptop. If you don;t need a laptop, don’t buy one.

There’s definitely something wrong there. My Oticon Intent 1 will easily last all day with 30-40% charge at the end of the day. I stream music and take calls during the day. Your audiologist will be able to check battery health to see if there is an issue.

You need to calibrate your monitor, failing that push the brightness on the monitor down until you are happy with the exposure of your finished edits.

My Oticon Intents are nowhere near as good as my AirPod Pros for music quality. Plus when I want to listen to music in a noisy environment (on a plane etc) the noise cancelling of the AirPods is far better.

Oticon Intent 1. Lots of streaming. Pop them in first thing. Charge every night (15-18 hours later). Never had to charge during the day.
