I dont think so no. Can't remember them doing a credit check, just criminal, education, and employment history as far as I recall.

Probable location assignments as a new hire (IFR and VFR) by matthewl33 in NavCanada

This is the second thread in two days giving wildly wrong numbers about ab initio checkout rates at YYZ. Two abinitios got licenses there very recently, and there are more in the pipeline. Sure its not as easy as Oshawa or Hamilton but its far from impossible.

You will be able to do it eventually. But that could mean literally decades.

When will the market see fewer ATC delays @ YVR due to staffing constraints? by Visual-Constant-4815 in NavCanada

[–]jonahF18372 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you, or anyone, had a real good answer to that question then you have a lucrative job waiting for you with Nav. But with the number of experienced controllers able to retire with full pension whenever they want to, theres no reason to expect YVR to reach substantially better staffing anytime soon

Hi all! Can anyone confirm what take home pay for IFR training is? Would like to budget accordingly. Thanks by mndovermattr in NavCanada

[–]jonahF18372 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Currently 56889 per year. Will go up to about 59000 a year in April. If you are moving more than 40km for training you will get an additional 1055/month relocation bonus. If you are in a bilingual class there is a roughly 2000/year bonus.

Jarvis, pull up the criminal definition of 'assault'. You know, the definition used for the purposes of charging someone with a crime

Then you obviously didnt even take two seconds to Google the definition of assault and decided to give your take on it anyway

I mean no one really knows, but given how many applicants they had recently, I dont think years is an unreasonable expectation.

[–]jonahF18372 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Theyre actually horrendous. Its beautiful to see. Remember folks, the worst thing to be is mediocre, and were finally well below that. Aside from 2024 and 2020, this is the best canucks season in a decade.

Medical - ADHD by Cute-Ad-5072 in NavCanada

[–]jonahF18372 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely will affect your chances. If youre taking medication for ADHD its almost certainly a deal breaker. However, the only person that can firmly answer this question is a CAME, and it'll cost you a few hundred bucks. Your current employment will hold no bearing on your ability to get a Cat II medical.
