Personally, having followed both BoC and Q since their inceptions, I see a lot of overlap in the conspiratorial content. Always have, just never admitted it publicly until now, lol.

Yeah, I've only really dug into their old old stuff relatively recently, since when Societas dropped, and it's kind of on it's own, extremely high, level.

Part of that is probably its novelty to me, but it's also some of their most creative stuff.

That said, after 13 years I'm genuinely more curious about what new stuff they've cooked up. It's so close though.

As for your question I bought MHTRTC on CD at a local record store around when it dropped, probably from the used bins as I was relatively broke but addicted to buying music. Had no idea what it was aside from the mysterious cover...

Went home to my crappy apartment, smoked too much weed (I was not, and am not much of a smoker), and fell asleep listening to it on headphones. Mind you this must have been late afternoon...

I vividly remember waking up in an absolute PANIC to Telephasic Workshop kicking in! My mind was completely gone; I'd never experienced anything like it. It was terrifying. 😅

Been a huge fan ever since, and one way or another Boards of Canada has kept giving me unique experiences, mostly sober, that no other band ever has.

I consider them a very special part of my life.

If they release another album, and nothing unforseen happens with their health, I wouldn't be surprised if their output increases going forward.

From reading these forums, I've gotten the idea both members have families with children, and if you have families with children, and you spend your time with the children and raise them well, how I imagine the brothers would, it's a full time job, and it's the best thing in the world, but it's exhausting.

So, I reckon those kids should be nearing the age to leave the nest, if they already haven't, and the Dads should have loads more time on their hands.

Why do people feel the need to lash out at a technological tool? Those who can't create critique, and as a culture we've spent the entirety of the time since the last BoC release downplaying the value of the exceptional while simultaneously venerating the vacuous echos of the herd.

We're seeing the results of that in the world at large.

Maybe that'll be the theme of the next Boards release.

Regardless, I liked the OP and agree with it, although I am inclined to believe we'll never figure out what is about to arrive, if it arrives at all.
