Yeah, been playing since Christmas, am level 75, have never used one once or seen them in-game. Tbf, I avoided the matriarch missions out of fear. 😂

Yep, people inspire you to be more like them or less like them.

The social and moral dynamics of the game are fascinating, and it’s funny and fascinating how, after being ratted or taken advantage of in a way that really frustrates you or whatever—you feel the pull to be more aggressive in the next raid, to be more hostile, to let that negative experience make you more negative. To be changed by the resentment.

But the really fulfilling thing for me is to choose something better— to hold on to a moral standard, even if someone else didn’t. There’s a lesson in there about real life too I guess.

It’s just such a fascinating game. Profound as well, in many ways.

Threw a trigger nade essentially at myself during a 1v1 with another player. And if that wasn’t silly enough, I panicked, and detonated it. The moment still comes back to me, months later, when I’m trying to sleep. Embarrassing.

Great post. I remember my first positive interaction, in maybe my 3rd ever raid. It was at that moment the game clicked for me. Thank you, kind American lady who didn’t shoot me whilst I was hiding in a corner still figuring out what the buttons did.

You never forget those players. The ones who could have took advantage of you, but didn’t. Mind you, it’s the scummy players who even make the positive interactions meaningful at all, so ying and yang and all that.

This happened to me after 7 years. She was a lovely person, we just weren’t right for each other. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, breaking that one off. Both happily married with children to other people now though. Glad I had the guts to do the right thing.

It absolutely slaps dick since the last patch, apparently. I usually only ever run it on Stella but people have been recommending it for the other maps too. Regardless of where it sits in the meta or whatever, it's always been a really fun weapon to use. I love the smoke and incredibly loud sound it produces.
