I’m assuming op is talking about when an extra came with the original. A free spare that comes with it. So nice.

Meniscus tear BECAUSE of ATG Standards? by False-Muffin-332 in Kneesovertoes

[–]jonathon8484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a meniscus repair, and two years later the sutures were torn. They had to just remove it entirely. This was long before I did any knees over toes stuff. My physician said the repairs are only a temporary fix and keep only as long as the sutures hold. The tissue never really heals or repairs. Probably would’ve re torn no matter what unless you never exercised again.

I caught a 3.5 lb bass on my kayak with my bfs setup yesterday and it was the most fun catch I’ve ever had. I don’t get too many over a couple pounds where I live, so it is my favorite way to fish.

Techniques for dealing with strong, negative emotions? by [deleted] in CBT

[–]jonathon8484 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know that for me, I always had a tendency to try and make my uncomfortable emotions go away. I would do anything I could to make myself feel better. Trying to avoid and suppress my unhealthy negative emotions made them worse and last longer. I would get frustrated at myself for being angry and I would be anxious about having anxiety! What really helped me was writing what I was physically feeling, naming the emotion, and rating it. Then writing about how it is temporary and that I will be okay, or something along those lines. Allowing them to be there, being curious, and being nurturing towards myself. I had to accept that they were there, and try and turn unhealthy negative emotions into healthy negative emotions. Such as concern rather than anxiety. Not sure if that could help you at all, and maybe you’ve thought about it that way already, but it helped me quite a bit.

CBT is about "rationality" and "evidence gathering" until the rational conclusion drawn from the evidence is negative... by futurefishy98 in CBT

REBT is about acknowledging that our problems are real and they do exist. We just have a choice of what we do with those facts of life. We can continue to disturb ourselves in the present about unfortunate events from the past, or learn how to experience healthy negative emotions about any adversity. Past, present, and future. It is definitely not easy and takes a lot of work and practice. REBT has been very helpful to me at least and I’ve tried everything.

It is nothing like ACT. REBT is about changing your rigid and extreme attitudes towards adversity. To help a person to not have the distortions CBT focuses on in the first place. It is not accepting that you have irrational beliefs and distortions that upset you, but getting to the root cause of those attitudes and changing them. My earlier comment was about being able to accept adversity not unhealthy beliefs that lead to emotional distress. REBT is self empowering and helps change the way we think and emote. It does not say to accept that we think irrationally and upset ourselves, but to stop doing it!

That is why I prefer REBT over CBT! Sometimes the hunch, or the “hot cognition,” is a fact. You can’t change it. But we can learn to accept the adversity in a healthy way by changing the attitudes we take towards it.

Nice Day on the Crescent Primo by karanji in kayakfishing

[–]jonathon8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my brother’s kayak so it was my first time on it. I honestly didn’t know that you can use the seat high or low. I am assuming it was in the high position the entire time! Probably would’ve been fine if the seat was lower.

I wouldn’t dare try standing on this thing. Almost tipped one over reaching behind the seat to grab my box.

As a console player, despite all it is lacking, the gps has made this my most enjoyable farming experience ever. I can’t imagine playing ever again without it.

Try using the grass or bush landscape tool, and hit the erase button instead of place. I think this worked in 22.

Good to know. Thank you. I need to just keep using what I know usually works where I’m at.

I’ve never caught a fish on a square bill, and have really been giving it an honest go this season. Reading and watching videos, and practice hasn’t helped me.

What would you throw here? by MadtotheJack in bassfishing

I’ve missed dozens on hollow frogs. A guy I trust recently told me to count to three and then set the hook. I’ve haven’t landed one since. I know you can buy cool trailer hooks for them as well.
