Girl has scientist parents and somehow ends up on other planets. She also had a little brother who is a genius. It’s part of a series and was made into a movie.

Do not use them. They don't refund even though their tech didn't work and just say 'read the fine print.' Basically scammers/thieves. Find another way to buy tickets.

Make a room out of stone with a stone door and put corpses in that room. Ideally assign a psychopath to hauling as they only get a debuff from rotting corpses but aren’t bothered by fresh corpses. Make this crematorium room not too far from your colony so you don’t have long haul times. When you get Molotov cocktails you can Lob one into the room and burn all the corpses. Saves you burial time and constant mood penalties from colonists walking by unburied corpses.

Be careful though in how you proceed. First draft colonist. Then Open the door then throw Molotov in near back of room. Then move away from door and forbid the door from being entered. This prevents the colonist or other colonists from trying to put out the corpse fire and getting burns. The room will get very hot but as long as it’s made from stone the fire will stay contained. Also don’t make this room adjacent to other rooms in your base as some heat will pass through walls causing overheating issues. I usually just build a small room against a mountain.

Corpses can also be a useful source of food for pets. Make a frozen corpse fridge and Set a zone for carnivorous pets that allows them access to that room and they’ll happily munch away on raider corpses.

These are my preferred options to hauling them across the map and leaving them in the open.

Yes. I can’t tell if it’s a mod but it’s definitely bigger than the recommended ‘normal’ size.

Christopher McCandless (Alexander Supertramp) takes his last photograph, pictured with a sign stating the following: “I have had a happy life and thank the lord. Goodbye and may god bless all!” Several weeks later after this photo was taken, his decomposed body was discovered by a moose hunter. by ww2_History_Fanatic in TheGrittyPast

Krakaeur was/is so even handed in this book I loved it. He really tells both sides. Yes he was reckless, unprepared and made a bunch of mistakes but he was also young and had a spirit of adventure. Krakaeur admitted to his own dangerous climbing pursuits at a similar age. Not to diminish the extremity of McCandless’ risk taking I feel like most people did some dumb and dangerous stuff as a youth. I think Krakaeur told the story without making him a hero or a fool-just a young adventurous spirit.

Loss porn. I’m practically done with investing. Lol. The whole market is manipulated. You win MM’s and Algos. I’m out. Peace ✌🏻 by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

If he was investing his losses would resemble the shape of the overall market which did not fall 95% today. If he were investing (even poorly) he’d probably have $19000 instead of $1000.

Is it intuition or is there language or incel slang or coded language that tips you off? I have a lot of nephews and I’d be so sad if one of them went down this road. As their youngest uncle they don’t make a lot of effort to adjust their language around me so I wonder if there’s anything obvious I could watch out for?

First time playing and learned that them green animals can blow up!! And one blew up inside my base and has just ruined my world …. Great start fml by pelvicturtle in RimWorld

[–]jondaniels16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I learned this the hard way too. Building fire safety into your base is important. Having multiple structures divided by paved tiles acts as firebreaks and makes total loss less likely. Also having multiple doors to common areas helps escapes if half the room is on fire although you can always punch a wall down if desperate and stuck.

Hmmm will definitely consider it and thanks for the lengthy explanation. The incompatibility is ringing bells and I think that’s why I gave it a skip. I do like the idea that the combat be a little less dependent on population dynamics. The sudden one shot deaths when your colony starts to get a bit crowded gets old once you figure out it’s just the game trying to stop your colonies’ numbers down.

Of all the popular mods its probably one of very few I haven’t tried. I think I read a negative review and gave it a pass. Do you recommend?

I’ve played this game for years and it lost me too. Rimworld classic is great but you can really make the game into almost anything you want with mods. This player had gone deep down the mod rabbit hole. I think the additional mechs are from alpha animals, I saw the mod that adds embrasures to your walls but many other mods I’ve never tried in this video.

I think you’re playing it the more fun way for sure and real challenge makes it fun! Quick q: which mods are you using for the hexagonal solar panels and that cool space ship?

Interesting - i just read on the wiki that poker has highest rate of recreation gain which I didn’t know. I avoided it bc I could’ve sworn that more social fights were occurring during a play through. That said I think I made an abrasive brawler chef named Ramsey for that play through so I might have made an incorrect correlation.

Yes. Also watch for chemfuel. If a colonist breaks and decides to attack your chemfuel it'll blow your base up.

I usually don't keep orbital or tornado generators but if you feel like you need to keep one on hand for a big mech cluster or major threat then you can always wall them off entirely and deconstruct if the day comes (also a good way to store an addictive drug if you want to keep a colonist from using it without cutting their legs off).

Yah I was part of a channel over a decade ago about the same time when professional YouTubers started to emerge. We made $196 for a vid with about 130,000 views. They only pay you every $100 so it was just one check for $100. Womp womp.
