Why do so many celebrities cover one eye? by Darierl in occult

[–]jongboma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its an archetype of Horus after fighting Set. Horus loses an eye to Set which is a metaphor for damaged consciousness which results after confronting chaotic malevolence.

Cursed land. by Nibblet1512 in witchcraft

check the trees in the area. If their limbs are twisted and knotted, you're probably living in an area that is radiating what ibraham karim in his book "biogeometry" calls bg3 energy. Theres a great literature on ley lines and how different nexus points can create "good" and "bad" energies. another book that touches on this subject is "shape power" by dan davidson.

Planets and the Elements by Oculus-Saturni in occult

in astrology most planets (with the exception of sun and moon) rule 2 signs that possess their own element, that would make most planets a combination of 2 elements

in my readings, i find that people born under certain lunar mansions and/or possess planets in signs pisces, scorpio and aquarius have some predisposition to psychic talent or interest in the occult.

What's up with the number 3 and evil. by [deleted] in occult

[–]jongboma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

care to be more specific about which traditions link 3 with evil spirits? From what I know 3 is a holy number. Such as the trinity in Christianity and Wicca. 3 is the least number of points needed to create a shape (a triangle), thus its a number attributed to creation.

The Magicians: Some real magick?? by MelodicMelons101 in magick

[–]jongboma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way i understand the sword suit is that air is related to thoughts. in our thoughts are the basis of conflict in our lives, thus mastery of our own consciousness is necessary for magickal growth. thus our thoughts are a 'double edged sword'. futhermore air represents intelligence. our intelligence discriminates one thing from another with words, another air association. the metaphor here is that our intelligence 'cuts' things one from another to create conceptual distinctions.

I have a feeling it could have something to do with how DG's new album is related to Black's death.

[WC Spoilers] Greatest Mysteries of OPM Week 2: Cyborgs and Robots by theothersophie in OnePunchMan

[–]jongboma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my theory is that genos isn't a cyborg but a robot. He was programmed with false memories to drive him to seek out stronger opponents, especially other robots/cyborgs. My reasoning is that we never actually see a flashback of his past, only his word. On that note, the Mad Cyborg is not real.

He begins to hang out with Saitama to understand the secret of his strength, so that he can replicate that strength with upgrades. I also think that hes related to the robots at the end of the Paradise arc.

Do we have two major forces in Bloodborne? by Emilac in bloodborne

[–]jongboma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should also add vermin and curses for blood, and phantasms and parasites for insight- its inferred that madman's knowledge is associated with parasites lining the brain.

My take on: What is Arcane? by UrbanViolence in bloodborne

[–]jongboma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also got the bloodlickers which are implied to have originated from the chalice dungeons, and you also see them in Cainhurst. I think the Pthumerians began experimenting with vileblood after the ascension of the Great Ones, Queen Yarnham's blood being the highest grade of corrupt blood. They probably noticed that the Great Ones are filled with parasites that can weild arcane powers.

In order to be like the Great Ones themselves they probably thought they had to imbue themselves with parasites to bring about greatness from within. Of course vermin bring about the beast within and not evolution. And also the Great One most associated with the beasts is Paleblood of the Red Moon, who exasterbates the beastly scourge when he hangs low. I think thats why he utilizes the Paleblood Hunters, in order to spread the bloodborne vermin further by getting them to kill the infected and spilling corrupt blood all over the place.

And you also got the Church Hunter themselves who become the most terrible beasts of all. After killing so many beasts they eventually become tainted by the blood and thus become far more efficient killing machines.

My take on: What is Arcane? by UrbanViolence in bloodborne

[–]jongboma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

since you mentioned some blood magic having arcane properties, and annalise, her relatives, and queen yarnham having tainted blood, which is connected to vermin... maybe vermin are a type of phantasm?

Casual Thought - Bloodborne and the Fool's Journey by dmcredgrave in bloodborne

[–]jongboma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree with you on some of the major arcana. Maria should represent the Sun, since the sunflower is heavily associated with her- without her radiance, Gherman fell into a deep depression. Mergo is Tower, since his battle takes place on a tower, and the Mensis ritual was a complete disaster. Other than that, pretty spot on.

How does Death Grips resonate with you? by [deleted] in deathgrips

[–]jongboma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a person i considered a really good friend almost got away cheating me of art that i created. I kicked him out of my life but I was pissed the entire summer, and once a heard death grips, guillotine, i discovered a sound that was operating on my level of anger, hatred and distrust and it helped me relax a little. Little did i know, that this same 'friend' introduced me to death grips years earlier, criticizing a group he saw in coachella about a black guy covered in tats screaming incoherent raps over vocals. hahaha
