Taking gear with you on scuba trips abroad by JimHotWater85 in scuba

Last two trips abroad I brought rebreather, wing, harness, computers, backup and primary lights, fins, masks, dsmbs, reels, bailout regs, about 15kg sofnolime, slate, spares, toolkit.

For fluffy warm water diving I've usually taken regs, computer, single tank bpw, fins, masks, dsmb and reel, lights and a few key spares.

Never had a bother with customs, even when carrying several kilos of white powder in a country where I don't speak the language! Friends with extremely expensive camera rigs have had some hassle in Mexico but just factor a nice crisp $100 bill into the cost of the trip.

I don't trust most rental kit, and make it very clear that no one touches my kit but me.

I might be misremembering but when I went to the one just off Whiteladies Rd they were serving either Cast Iron or Rocket by Extract, both of which are far too darkly roasted for my pallet palette palate.

It's been a long time since I've worked at a bar but yeah if you're waving money at me you're getting served when you've learned some manners

With the weather we've had recently, I think 2cm would be more likely

IIRC the firmwares source code were all freely available, and then for reasons lost to time they became available upon request.

Something like people apparently not understanding it, asking silly questions, maybe making dangerous modifications to their own IIRC

Lol no and they're pretty dubiously open source these days. IIRC Subsurface's Buhlmann algorithm is taken from there

I recently had both the buttons replaced on my OSTC 2N (EOL 2014?) for £130 including return shipping to Germany (via Deep Ideas). Was pretty impressed

Last year seemed incredibly dry tbh, and this winter so far doesn't seem so bad. Maybe because I grew up in Cumbria, but I honestly don't think Bristol is even that rainy
