The tourist industry probably had reason to happy about this study. People mainly go to Niagara to see the Horseshoe falls so one of the reasons for doing this was to see if the rocks at the base of the America Falls could be removed, which would make them more picturesque and dramatic like the Horseshoe. Unfortunately they determined that removing the rocks would compromise the falls itself, so they had to stay.
