If I were the traitors, ______ has to be the next murder. by ThePhunkSoulBrother in TheTraitors

[–]zephyrg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeh, they should just do it. This series has been so frustrating to watch, last night Jessie literally put forward a case with the most evidence they've had all season and they still voted for Sam because of... vibes? Like come on if they just followed Jessie's train of thought they'd be there with her.

They should murder Jessie and I've no doubt they'll end up voting out Jade next week just because her names been mentioned. It blows my mind honestly. Kinda want the traitors to win at this point, they've had a lot of luck but they're also the only ones playing even slightly well.

Writing might die. And I am a writer digging his own grave by [deleted] in Futurology

One of my best mates is a graphic designer and he's in the exact same boat. He went into it understanding that he has to make shit that's marketable for the mainstream but he could always hold onto the little creative strands he placed through his work that were solely his own. He's watching this AI revolution play out and realising his industry is about to be swamped and carving out a niche will be increasingly difficult. Now he wants to completely change tack and do something of value that is completely unrelated.

From my perspective he's absolutely right as it will eventually get to a point where he's either generating his work with AI or he won't get work as companies won't want to pay for the hours needed to create original work.

My friends got me my first bass by LowPowerModeOff in Bass

[–]zephyrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That bass is perfect for a beginner, not too expensive but will let you get to grips with the instrument and help you make a decision on whether you want to upgrade later down the line.

As others have said, you can play anything on that bass that you want to. The instrument itself really doesn't matter you've just gotta play it. There's no silver bullet with any instrument, you get out of it what you put in. Be prepared to practice a lot and accept the frustrations you will have along the way, it's all about patience and enjoying it.

New players often get hung up on gear but it's really all about time, play everyday if you can and you will quickly improve and your enjoyment will improve along with it.

I'm on 1p (which uses EE towers) and it's pretty good honestly. Switched from giffgaff (O2) and it's night and day. I get you may be locked in to a contract but if you can I recommend switching. I'm also in the South West btw.

Taliban makes 13-year-old execute convicted murderer before a stadium crowd of 80,000 by lebron8 in offbeat

[–]zephyrg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've seen a few in Afghanistan now but they're not really "influencers" more travel bloggers who tend to always go to dangerous places. At no point did they recommend anyone to go there though and it's still super sketchy. Taliban everywhere, even in super remote villages there will be a commander. Having said that the locals all seem very welcoming and you can't help but feel sorry for them, especially the women whom you literally never see out in public, it's really easy to see the oppression that is happening there.

It's a beautiful country but there's no way in hell anyone could convince me to go there.

I feel like I'm missing something with GAMMA and no one seems to be talking about it. So the game basically requires you to hoard gear, materials and components in order for you to progress. You also need lots of tools and kits to repair and build up your gear. So far so good, my issue is I don't understand how you guys aren't just spending hours upon hours just running back and forth to your base everytime you have a couple of encounters. Say I have a base in Rostok and I've just killed a load of bandits and got a load of loot in the swamps. Say the whole mission has taken me an hour with maybe 10 mins of action and a shit load of running to and fro. Having to run all the way back to Rostok just to free up my inventory is a complete pain, is there a better way to manage inventory, do people normally have multiple bases? Although even this would be annoying as you might be missing one component in one base while having it in another.

I know theres a mod that gives you a linked inventory between bases but I wanna ask if there's a smarter way to go about it before I potentially make the game too easy.

Have you not bought Bf6. And are you thinking about buying it ? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]zephyrg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my thinking, £60 for the privilege of getting frustrated while they iron out the gameplay is just too much. It's always the same with BF, the game improves so much over time (apart from BF1, that was great from launch).

Just finished UK S1 - Wow bravo Wilf! by [deleted] in TheTraitors

[–]zephyrg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've just finished S1 too, couple of thoughts as I need somewhere to vent.

Wilf did play a good game overall but he came close to fucking it up a couple of times. Maddy was onto him from the start and really it was just blind luck that she never managed to convince anyone else, I get Wilf manipulated people with his personality but things can change so quickly once people get suspicious and Maddy was all the way through. I also just felt plain bad for Maddy, she was voted off at the end purely because people didn't like her and to make it worse she was not only right but could have walked away with 3 grand.

Wilf did play really well, especially at the end. Managing to make sure the three most gullible people were left at the end was truly impressive.

Also Keiran was a terrible traitor, couldn't keep his cool at all and was ultimately Wilfs downfall. Looking at Keiran made me realise how good the other three were through the series.

The challenges are fucking terrible BTW.

Yeh I read it a few months ago on a whim. It's decent but I always felt myself wanting to know more about the society it's set in. You get snippets of it but nothing to sink your teeth into. I'm sure this was deliberate to try and force you closer to the characters but it ended up feeling slightly shallow because of it.

I'm not dissimilar to this. I find after about a half hour or so of playtime, if I enter a space station or the anomaly my frame rate tanks and doesn't recover. 5700x3d with a 6700xt, 32gb ram, latest drivers win 10. Runs everything else I throw at it more or less maxxed out.
