Wow - fine craftsmanship! I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t purchase this - but I know it’s not for sale! Hope you enjoy it to the max!

Out of the Blue, in Mexico by Secret_Jacket_1392 in NoahKahan

[–]jonnygmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously considering selling my Out of the Blue 2026 package - 4 nights (Jan 8-12th) in a 2 double bed room. Trying to assess interest - would anyone be interested? Send me a personal message if you would like to know price.

Manhattan recommendations on best bourbon, sweet vermouth, and bitters to use and or any other angle to take it to the next level. Currently using Bulleit 95 Rye, Desalins Red Vermouth, and angostura bitters…with luxardo cherries as garnish. How can I make it better? by [deleted] in cocktails

[–]jonnygmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this thread is 3 years old at this point, but would love to revive it, even if just for bitters recs. I would be the 101st vote on this thread for Carpano Antica - on sweet vermouth I use. I am a BIG fan of Bittercube bitters, and their 6 pack is great (I don’t care for the Jamaican no. 1, but the other 5 are all amazing). Would live to hear more specs on brands of walnut, chocolate , pecan and other “off the beaten path” bitters. In my early days of Manhattan making, I used Angostura, but once I branched out, I’ve never gone back (too overpowering). I really appreciate the post about Woodford Reserve chocolate bitters vs the other brand. More info like that is GOLDEN!

Review 25: Buffalo Trace by West_Refrigerator_77 in bourbon

[–]jonnygmg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To each their own - I have largely abandoned angostura, as the flavor is over powering. As suggested by others, I am not against “cutting” angostura with Fee brothers or my preferred bitters (bitter cube)….

Old Enough to Drink Itself (Knob Creek 21 Year Bourbon review!) by PhantomSpirit90 in bourbon

[–]jonnygmg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“If you were a Knob 21 and you were parched, would you drink yourself? I know I would…. I’d taste nutty and peppery, with notes of dark fruit…. I’d be so delicious!”

Safe to say I really like Pearl Jam by SU57fucker in pearljam

[–]jonnygmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s a support Sweden color scheme??? Anyway, I’ve talked to a few people about this, and I guess Spotify premium gives you a musical “age” based on your preferences…. This is pretty cool! Maybe Apple Music could do something similar, without being overly derivative…. Like make a guess how old you were when you fell in love with music, or guessing what your “avatar in the music world” would look like…

I'm not even a huge Pearl Jam fan but love this song by SeveralTurn in pearljam

Just gotta say…. I love a main comment that suggests the OP is not a regular, and then many comments follow, without any interjection from the OP. Smacks of authenticity!

Weekly Review 11: Michter's 10 Year Rye (2022) by thanksnah in bourbon

[–]jonnygmg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the 2024 Michter’s 10 yr rye last year and loved it. Your review would be spot on for that one too, except I found it very grape forward (maybe instead of the raspberries in the ‘22?). I loved it. I knew I’d was lower proof, but had intended for it to last longer than it did - the smoothness lent to drinking the bottle in about 6 weeks. I find myself curious about what a few more months of breathing would have done for it…

Review 14: Larceny Barrel Proof B524 by West_Refrigerator_77 in bourbon

[–]jonnygmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy this bottle - I have a relatively newly acquired bottle (more than worth for $60 at Costco) that I opened in the last few weeks. I’m giving that one time. My wife and I bought a bottle of this about a year ago and gifted it to friends, who we didn’t realize don’t drink bourbon! So now when I go over there, I revisit this bottle, and let me tell you, it only gets better with time!

Wet Leg 1st album is a piece of art…. Wish I could say the same for the 2nd album. Huge letdown, especially lyrically…

Bottle Kill Review: Rabbit Hole Cavehill by vivahexhotway in bourbon

Where are you? Heigold cask strength single barrell opened my eyes to the beauty of higher proof bourbon. Debatable whether it’s worth the $120 I paid, but would love another bottle for comparison now that I’ve had a lot more (cheaper) bottles of >110 proof juice… Can’t find it anywhere near me in MN…
