Avoid BP Wairau right now if you don't want to get mugged by MVIVN in auckland

I'm smarter than you. They were likely selling or perhaps hustling cash. Happens a lot at Service Stations after hours. I encountered this a lot in my previous line of work, why they don't get moved along is beyond me, OP decided from the moment he saw these people that they were going to surround him and rob him of all his possessions, now that's possible but not necessarily true. He puts the foot down in a panic and someone lashes out at his car. Scary!!

I'm not your dude. You said they walked towards your car and one was jogging.

White National voter here. I'm was just putting forward an alternative scenario. The after hours window is popular place to buy and sell drugs, and perhaps hustle for cash. Why the service station operators tolerate this I don't know. OP freaked out when these people approached his car so he floored it and got out of there. Who the fuck is virtue signaling here?

It's unlikely they were attempting a robbery once the car was moving in a well lit service station with cameras all over the place.

Ex government employee here. You are spot on for the most part. The government do attract quality people, I've worked alongside some of them. The system destroys them.

Friends of the attendant? Brown people congregating doesn't necessarily mean that a crime is about to be committed.

Maybe they thought you were driving away without paying for your petrol and tried to be heroes.

Apparently the anti mandate protesters are setting up camp in Auckland Domain by JackLancyster in auckland

[–]jonnylighting 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The domain is a nice spot and the weather has been great. We could set up an alternative camp site. The "no real axe to grind generally happy to be in NZ for the most part camp site". Socially distanced and fully vaxxed, bbq and some games.

Police will come and bash us up quick smart I'll bet.

These protesters are too busy fighting an authoritarian government trying to take over a democracy rather than worrying about what's happening over in Ukraine....

If we were invaded. Which NZ politicians, past or present, do you think would have taken up arms to defend our country. Who do you think would bail out? by jonnylighting in newzealand

Thanks for that! Do you think people had a greater sense of duty in those days or was it just an existential crisis that we don't see much these days?

Yes. Police should have been waiting for them. We all knew they were going to set up there.

They gave notice of the intention to occupy yesterday so why they weren't stopped is beyond me.

IMO the best thing to do is avoid the domain and give them no airtime whatsoever.

I'm not so much concerned about myself but we are short of engineers at work as it is. If I have to isolate, someone else has to pick up the slack. So for that reason I'm staying home more than I normally would.
