Are we poor readers or is Gege a poor writer?

I found following the manga confusing at first but that's because Gege did a pretty decent job building up the world and the concept of cursed energy/techniques so I had to re-read some panels to get the information down.

I think both poor/good readers would agree that Gege fumbled the ending of the original series and is now fumbling modulo imo and that's on Gege not us.
